allens raw qbr was ahead of
eli, staff, carr, keenum, bortles, tannehill and EVERY OTHER ROOKIE QB NOT NAMED MAYFIELD (jackson, darnold, rosen)
same for qbr, better then smith as well
plus he rushed for over 50 yards a game
and had the worst o line and worst group of wr's in the game
little harsh on allen
tage is 1/3 of a line and probably 50% why that line fails - homiedclown
Very fair. However we can both agree that Thompson and Allen aren’t finished products. It’s unfair to assess both players right now. In a few years though we will have a clearer picture. |

from what I have seen the last 20 or so games
14-18 players have no heart, esp when this team had a chance to climb back into playoff consideration
I pose this question again, just like the last 4 or 5 years
is it coaching
or is it the lack of determination from the players
if you fire phail, and bring in another coach and the core still just goes through the motions with their 3rd, 4th and in some cases 5th coach here at what point is the players the problem? - homiedclown
culture...hard to break out of a losing cycle and that's what they're in...that's why I'd like to see them win regardless of draft position

Housley says Hutton will be in net tonight, Sobotka will be in for Pominville and Scandella will be in for Hunwick. |

Tage Thompson and Josh allen are both raw prospects. One gets bashed to shreds because he isn’t producing playing in his first full NHL season. The other had the worst stats by a QB in the NFL last year. One has accuracy issues hitting the net, the other couldn’t hit the broad side of a barn with a football. Yet for some reason Tage is a write off and has no chance of being a top 6 fwd for us and Josh allen is leading the Bills to the playoffs this year. If Josh Allen can develop and improve his accuracy why can’t Tage put on 15-20 pounds and develop with more experience as well ? Yea we lost the trade after 6 months without knowing what we have in the first rounder or the prospect..........
- Pegullaville
Josh allen took his team and led them by hurdling defenders and setting all time Bill's qb rushing records.
He was picked early and in my opinion, looked really good. He played with a chip on his shoulder and played the game physical. Guys looked up to him. He was surrounded by non stars aside from shady.
Tage Thompson took his team to 7th last place. Cant hit the net, looks slow and doesn't use his size or toughness to do anything. He looks disinterested.
He was picked in the 20's a couple years ago in the first round. Were not building a franchise around him. He was a throw in. Tage is surrounded by high 1st round picks.
See the difference. |

Luckily for me I just become apathetic about our teams when they suck and not angry or depressed. |

SPECTOR’S NOTE: If you’re a Sabres fan, you can look at this season as a glass half full or half empty. Their impressive play in the first half of the season could suggest they’re only a couple of tweaks away from a breakout season, while their second-half struggles seem to indicate more work is needed.
If there’s an opportunity to bring in a proven NHL coach with an impressive resume, I think they should do it. No offense to Housley, but if someone like Vigneault or Quenneville is willing to come to Buffalo, the Sabres must explore that opportunity.
Botterill gave up very little to get Skinner, but letting him walk via free agency after just one impressive season alongside Eichel would be a big mistake. It sends the wrong message to the players (especially Eichel), and to the fans, that they’re not serious about building and maintaining a winner.
Yes, it will likely cost over $9 million annually on a long-term deal to keep Skinner. Yes, there’s the risk he might not reach these offensive heights again. Yes, they might find a quality free agent or two willing to play for them. But this is a player who waived his no-movement clause to come to Buffalo. He wants to be there and he loves playing alongside Eichel. It would be foolish to let Skinner go because of quibbling over the contract term. Pay the man and get it done. If they don’t, then what was the point of acquiring him last summer?
I can see Botterill moving one a couple of those depth players mentioned by Clinton, though he might not be keen to give up on Sheary after just one season. I agree that Girgensons and Bogosian have done all they can do in Buffalo and it’s probably time for a change. Moving Bogosian, however, won’t be easy. While he’s got just one year left on his contract, Cap Friendly indicates it’s an annual average value of over $5.142 million with an actual salary of $6 million.
Ristolainen could fetch a good return for the Sabres, but unless he’s unhappy in Buffalo and wants a trade, I think it would be worthwhile to hang onto him for at least another season. He’s only 24 and signed through 2021-22 with an affordable salary-cap hit of $5.4 million and can still be a valuable part of their plans. https://www.spectorshocke...rumor-mill-march-17-2019/ - adambuffalo
I'll take Vigneault, Q already has a cup. No need for Sheary unless we're playing the Pens every game. |

Didn't you post this exact same thing in the last blog, word for word?
I usually agree with many of your opinions, however, the "Allen couldn't hit the broad side of a barn" statement is quite the exaggeration and is laughable, and for all the good that kid did for the Bills last year with NOTHING AROUND HIM, using Tage "I have a great opportunity here to prove myself but every time I hit the ice I look like I couldn't care less" Thompson in the same breath? No way. |

Yes and after year one I thought RGIII was the next Michael Vick and was going to take over the league. Thompson can develop into a scoring winger, Allen can develop into an elite QB. It is however a bit premature to say that Thompson isn’t going to turn out to be anything or that Allen is a franchise QB just yet. |

Off to Punta Cana tomorrow. Not sure what I’ll do without watching this team. Oh wait, I know, I’ll just hang out in the ocean, drink margaritas, and eat until my heart’s content. Ahhhhh..... |
