Rosen is the best dman in the AHL, he’s ready. Dermott will need to be relied upon and I also think he ready for a bigger role. Lower zaitsev’s minutes. Liljegren will be the unknown, the others I’m fine with. I don’t think all the defensive woes is due to personnel, I think it has to do with the way Babcock is making them play.

Let’s face it, Babs love for the that philosophy, it’s bullpoop. The players will tell you themselves. That also goes into his theory of constant pressure that seems to be at least partially to blame for the current shortcomings. I think Dermott leaves a big hole, but Gards not so much.

I agree sides are overrated until it comes to the PK, where I think it's imperative.

But that defense is truly awful. Just a mish mash of players.

Rosen going from the AHL to playing on the top pair on his weaker side is a bit of a push. Imo

The Borgman people remember from the first 20 NHL games of his career no longer exists. Maybe he can find it again? He's really gone backwards. Imo

Zaitsev who everyone hates for not being able to pass the puck will look worse on his weaker side. Imo

Be interesting to see whether they give Sandin a good look at training camp. Personally I'd probably give him another season in the AHL but he's arguably ready now (or next year). Also, between him and Bracco our PP will be resolved immediately. Those two know how to run a PP. As they did superbly today again
