I wouldn't consider 3 years a while. So, whatevs. - jmatchett383
HBK was a 4 or 5 month flash in the pan. The next season after, that line chewed, and before that 4 to 5 month flash in the pan there was about 4 years of having a crap 3rd line. So while the saying "a while" is relative to whomever is using it, it kind of feels like a while to me too even though there was a good one 3 years ago, albeit for a relatively short period of time. |

Malkin should have had 1k its like 3 seasons ago. Dude is hurt all the time.
He basically played a full season last year after that you gotta go all the way back to 11'-12' to where he hit 70+ GP. |

the entire brassard era feels like a (frank)ing eternity. (frank) that guy.
(i used to sh!t on sutter (when geno was healthy, and sutter played 3C), but atleast that jackass could pot some SH goals) |

If we’re being honest, if the refs actually called cross checking we wouldn’t see Malkin on the ice much at all anyway. |

Tough to say Dallas is fighting for their playoff lives when you look at the remaining schedule for MN. It’s definitely an up hill battle for the Wild |

going into tomz's matchup, worth noting Jordy Staal recently hit 500 career pts (248 burgh, 252 lina), most without his brotha |

Best first line center playing 3rd line matchups in NHL history. Very valuable player, but kind of a Richard move that he pulled at the end of his time in Pittsburgh. |

I don't think it was a Richard move since he gave them the heads up with enough time to pull a trade and get something good for him. He could have handled it much worse. |

it does not, not act deserves an injury in return. Now, for a player to even think of swinging his stick at someones head like that? Just a scumbag move. - wcorvette
Didn't Geno get punched in the back of the head as he was skating away, right before? Thats a battery charge IRL. |

You look back at the Jordan Staal trade and it was a pretty great one. Regardless of how all the pieces panned out, getting a 1st round pick, top defense prospect and a "3rd line center."
Better players have been moved for less. |

IRL? This is hockey, so you could realistically say that about half the stuff that happens. Where in "real life" can you walk around whacking people with a stick and nothing happens? Where IRL can you just push someone because you don't like where they're standing?
IRL if you get in a fight in public, you're likely going to jail. So... yeah |

True, but it's illegal none the less, even in hockey. Whatever his name was should have been punished for just punching him. |

Yes, he should have been punished with a 2 minute penalty. It's called "roughing." Unless the player is injured, then he can be assessed a 4 or 5 minute penalty. |

That's true, but he turned down's Pittsburgh's offer and then accepted the exact same offer with Carolina. |

How dare he wanting to have some say in his destiny!
I know the world if pro sports is vastly different than the real world as far as being in control of where you work, but I don’t blame any player for trying when they have the chance. |

Yeah, he never really lived up to being the guy Rutherford thought he was getting, but he's still a damn good player.
He seems pretty excited to get the chance to FINALLY get into the playoffs. He's had a pretty rough go of it since he arrived, what with the broken leg, the concussion, his daughter being stillborn, going through a rebuild and the team being sold. |
