Are you saying CBJ overpaid for several players?

- PatC80

Oh (frank) yeah they did.

I respect them for it. They were in a tough position and they commited to a decision instead of half assing it.

It’s a fanbase that’s had some good teams but bad luck in the playoffs....another victim of the playoff format.

Maybe?

I think that if there was a top 4 RHD equal to Muzzin that could be had for the same cost as Muzzin, I think that Dubas would have made that deal instead..
Purely speculation, besides only Ek knows which top 4 RHD are available.

Who he would have traded out is the big question. He would have to have moved out basically the same salary as what was coming in.

Probably would have traded a 1st rd pick, Grundstrom and Durzi..

If CBJ misses the playoffs, (likely won't happen) but if they do, do you fire Kekalainen or give him credit for trying to succeed?

Sorry, I was meaning a guy Dubas would have wanted would carry a cap hit. Non UFA (I would have been okay with UFA but...), so it would have to have involved a roster player.

I think he’s done a great job building that team.

He’s had to face the Pens every year and now probably TB....

NSH kept sticking with Poile and it’s worked. Hold onto good GMS and coaches. There aren’t many out there.

Shouldn't you go and clean your banana suit? Spring is coming so you'll be back to work soon!

It's quite the gamble he's decided to take this year.

I think he's done a very good job overall in his tenure.

Yes. After the Muzzin trade though, there was little to no space left. I'm saying if he wanted that all so coveted non UFA RD, someone from the roster with equal salary would have to have been shipped out.

I've been hanging around here for almost 12 years.

At this point, I'll probably never leave.

Guess that makes me....

Well along with Wedgie I guess.

Scabies... you guys better make the wildcard stretch interesting. The Leafs are painful to watch right now and I could really use a "Habs miss out on playoffs in the last game of the season by 1 point" pick me up!

I understand what you're saying, but I think we are talking about different things..

I was saying that if there was a top 4 RHD available, who is/was equal to Muzzin, that could have been had for the same price(1st, Durzi & Grundstrom) that Dubas would have probably traded for the RHD and not Muzzin.

For your dream to come true, the Habs will need to start winning some games!

Or they'll be out of it way sooner than that.

Maybe they could win games if Drouin remembered how to hockey. (8 games, 0 points)

If any coach is out there that can take this soft as poop team, that doesn't get any PPs, that half arses it 75% of the time, that never starts a game on time, with little depth currently healthy on D and with a poope back up goaltender and lead them to more success than Babcock, we should welcome that little unicorn riding leprechaun ASAP
