Nooooooooo

Marincin will never cost the Leafs more than league minimum.

- Santo_44

the problem (there are many) with Marincin is not what he costs in $ or CAP space...
but rather the extra load the other players must carry, the impact on the goaltenders who end up with at least 2-3 high danger chances against per game with Marincrap is in the lineup.

I think flabbygas ran out of steam finally between being trounced here and in the Buffalo blog. THANK GOD.

Be nice if we just locked him in the Vancouver thread for a year

Actually on second thought that is even too cruel for those guys. NOBODY deserves that troll in their fan space.

I honestly don't think Marincin is going to get back up next year not with Borg, Rosen, and possibly even Sandin in line there and even on the outside chance Lily.

Rielly-Dermott
Muzzin-Z
Rosen-Liljegren

That's how I see the D next season at the moment, unless they somehow trade Z.

Plenty of things can happen between now and September.

Unless Marleau agrees to retire on another team, not much can change.

The UFA market is either too expensive or too weak to provide any kind of affordable or significant upgrade.

Outside of trading Nylander, because he clears the most cap space and brings back the best return, the trade market doesn't look like it's much help either.

In reality, very few things can actually happen between now and September.

I dont agree. We clearly have a need at RHD next year. They definitely feel like Rosen is ready, and with Dermott/Muzzin/Reilly all being LHD I just cant see them rushing Sandin up to play bottom pairing or a 7th Dman role.

I think its likely they keep Sandin in the AHL for most of next year, and maybe bring him in as a late seaon call up like Dermott so he can fill Muzzin's spot for the following year.

I think Liljegren still needs time. I think he gets called up on an emergency basis in 2020 if we have any injuries on D.

"Rookie defenceman Christian Wolanin, who played 24:29 in the absence of the injured Thomas Chabot (only Toronto’s very poor Norris Trophy candidate Morgan Rielly played more), echoed Paajarvi’s thoughts, talking about the “amazing” work by the forwards, defence and goaltender Anders Nilsson.

He also took plenty of pride in sending much of the loaded Maple Leafs crowd away unhappy.

“It was a fun building, it was fun to send those Leafs fans home with about three minutes left and seeing them all leaving the building,” he said. “It was a fun game, an emotional game.”

Trevor has been a huge booster of Wolanin since early in the season. He appears to have got it right.

I thought for sure that was plan. Let sandin play another year in the ahl, bring up lili.
But now, im not so sure.
But we'll see.
Remember when lhd or rhd didnt matter? If you were a good dman you could play both sides.

Simpler times.
