We essentially got no production from what we acquired in those 2 deals

So even though we got Skinner, and added Mitts, Sheary & the StL guys...
all we did was replace their scoring that we lost
and not ADD to it like we needed to

Thus,
ANOTHER season where we lack the scoring necessary to be consistent winners

Hopefully this offseason we can keep Skinner,
and ADD TO HIM
That would be a step in the right direction,
instead of just treading water

That wasn’t really my point though

This is why they moved on. They weren’t winning the cup and he wasn’t going to be paying Kane/ROR 15 mil combined into their 30’s.

Add someone like Hayes,
who is only a year younger than ROR
and will make 6mil per-
so we save 1.5mil for a worse player

All that Cap space we saved from them,
we now need to use to sign players like them

And again... it’s totally missing the point of what I’m trying to say...

and the lack of secondary scoring has killed us this year

You are so blindly focused on Kane & ROR bc of your hate for them

This is the bottom line

We couldn’t score enough last year
We lost some of that scoring
All we did was replace what we lost

And that is why we are in this position AGAIN


Our secondary scoring is horrible
Now,
if we can add some 23yr old guys that can score... GREAT... makes sense
But that’s A LOT easier said than done
Even if those guys are available,
we don’t have many assets left to be able to acquire them

But, for example...
all we do is spend the Cap savings we got on trading ROR for Hayes,
then what was the actual point?

So what do we do this offseason?

Move Risto plus the 2020 1st for Hall or Trouba use the 2nd 2019 1st for the other.

Hayes might not be a bad option depending on cost (salary) but for nothing more than 3 yrs. He’s not the fleetest of foot and is going to be on the steady downward trend as he ages.
