and YOURE not getting it....
We are NOWHERE NEAR the playoff race NOW...because Skinner...STOPPED DOING HIS job...
your argument: when skinner was doing his job..we were RIGHT IN THE THICK OF THINGS....(correct)
my argument: "as soon as skinner STOPPED doing his job...we fell out of the race...(also correct) - RippedFuel
So the whole thing falls on Skinner.... Why have anyone else play?

Yep.....if over 7, let him walk. And make a good hockey trade to replace him. Get the NEXT guy looking to be overpaid. Skinner at his current salary is a VERY good deal...at 9...terrible. Bots has made some good hockey trades....Skinner, Montour...Go get the NEXT Skinner at 5 million..rather than paying TWICE that to watch him vanish again in March - RippedFuel
Trade from a position of strength to replace him? Do we have one of those?
Letting him walk is losing talent in a system that is lacking talent.

I don't think anyone is telling you you can't be in the "lane" that doesn't want 9M. I think they're saying your argument about quitting is incorrect, due to a multitude of factors. Goal scorers are streaky, even Kane so that's why he was used as an example, not a comparison. Skinners skid coincided right around the same time he took that nasty fall. Quitting and not producing are not the same thing. Just to clarify, you're ok with 7M if he's not doing his job, but not 7.1M and not doing the job. I'm not ok with either. |

7 mil, Skinners agent is not even picking up the phone to start a conversation at 7 mil.
I don't want to pay more then 8.5 and I would like that at 4-5 years. Sadly I don't think that is going to happen. Some GM will offer him 7 @ 9 large.

Hes the most highly paid player, contributing the least. He deserves a lot of the blame for the collapse. Hes the guy that wants 70m |

FALSE
He's 3rd. Eichel and Okposo make more and Pominville is just behind.
And contributing the least is laughable, even for you. |

A lot of those people think he's not worth $9M, myself included, but that doesn't mean that those people think he's all of a sudden "not doing his job" when even the best players have the exact same cold streaks this season. Matthews had one goal in what 13? games earlier this year? What about him? He has no Cups. |

You don't have a point, you're the big mouth drunkard who calls into talk radio blasting Eichel because he hasn't scored in 3 games. |

Wrong. When the season was in balance, Eichel upped his game. 53 vanished.
And i havent bern drunk in 25 years. |

This is where it gets twisted for you. Even the best goal scorers go cold. It's not that they're "not doing their job" Skinner has hit a ton of posts that should've gone in, not like off the outside and into the crowd. He's been unlucky. The team has absolutely sucked which doesn't help. Streaks are irrelevent it's where you end up that matters. A point missed in October that knocks you out of the playoffs is just as important than a point missed in the 82nd game. They're worth the same amount. If you got that point in October you needn't worry about the 82nd game. |

If we COULD get rid of 21, we would. We dont HAVE to overpay a guy who VANISHED when he was needed most. - RippedFuel
Skinner is the purest goal scorer in the league, 9 million is a steal |
