it’s his first year as a full time player. Pretty sure he’s young enough and has enough skill that he can be/is nhl calibre. He’s still learning, i onow it’s hard but: rebuilding teams require young players making mistakes, being held accountable and growing. Green is just doing his job and letting him know he cost them a big goal.

Edler with some redemption. Very well impressed by that win, Hawks have been playing very well.

He's been playing professional hockey for five full seasons now... San Jose washed there hands of him after three. He's not a fresh faced kid getting his first oppurtunity. He's been gifted first line minutes most of the season and he's had every coach on the team take him aside for one on one coaching ...pretty much game by game. He ain't got it ...he ain't getting it... and for this team to continue moving forward his position on the top 6 requires a serious upgrade.
I guess we will see what management thinks on this topic ... I don't think he's on this team come next season.

This has been a great year for Canuck rookie draft picks. EP with the point record and 9 or 10 games to go. Demko looking like a keeper. Gaudette. Also a bunch of other looks at drafted players through the season. OJ was close to coming up... and with the current D injuries it may have been for the rest of the season. BUT WAIT!! THERE'S MORE!!! We are still getting a look at Quinn Hughes. This team is getting really young.

Good job Benning.

So EP sets the rookie record, can't believe it's taken that long for a rookie to score 61 points but that's pretty sweet for him.

I just read he's now achieved four $212K dollar rookie bonuses from his contract.

Me too actually, I'd like to see him skate with NHL players.

He was fun to watch at the WJ, so smooth and almost effortless.

Just please a little loto luck. Kakko would look great on EP's wing. and some solid D picks in the following rounds.
Next year... Push for Playoffs.
2 years... Complete in Playoffs.
3 years... Challenge the Big Boys in Playoffs.
4 Years onward... Contend for the Cup

He's going to have to shake a lot of his junior habits but it'll still be fun to watch him learn the NHL pro game.

Ha - I actually agree with your post, a few nice things are coming to the surface from Benning and company. That'll never change the fact I believe over the past five years he's been a complete boob in the GM position. Some of the early missteps are a result of the owner though....but we've been down this road before.

I'm just glad there's a few nice kids coming around for us to watch. Although I've kind of lost interest if we're being honest. They're a world away from being a playoff team, at least in my opinion. Much work to be done this summer.

Yes. but a Euro style tournament. Please keep your head up is all I ask. I don't want our "Bobby Orr" to lose his brain like the real Bobby lost his knees.

I agree he is a Boob, but if he can stock the system and assemble a scouting department to keep it fed, he gets my vote. but at some point, a more competent deal maker with a poker face will have to assume the position.

Most of their (the scouting department) good picks are in the top 35 selections though, they've gotta be better in the mid rounds. Gaudette appears to be a keeper and a great pick where he was taken but in five drafts there's not really much else there.

I agree, you need those later round picks to make the show and push or you end up like the Oilers
With Brackett and Gradin you have the brains hopefully to pull late round talent. Get rid of Delorme and some other deadwood would be nice. And as for pro scouts...
