Sounds depressing.
I'm trying to mentally prepare myself for when we finish below the Rangers and they move ahead of us in the lottery draft. Seems like that sort of year.... The Blue Shirts are doing an outstanding job as late tankers. - Queenie_5_hole
Thats because they naturally suck . |

Whoever we'll get it'll pan out. Shero aint no dummy. He stuck to his guns and plans since he came aboard. With Ty playing next season, and our kids getting one year better, I think we are very close to getting good, if Hall decides to sign. |

He gave the ok to draft Pavel Zacha and Michael Mcleod....
He's done a good job, but finding talent in the first round hasn't been his strong suit. |

Well Mcleod hasnt been given a real shot until recently and he has been playing better as games go on. Also in world juniors, he played a defensive role. I hope he can become our Madden. I dont need 30 goals from him for him to be considered good. |

Unless he gets a top pick he usually blows it |

Unless it's a skating defenseman or a top 3 pick. |

Colorado is easily getting the first two picks in this draft because we're all going to get punished for Ottawa being a garbage fire. |

I give him a pass for Zacha because Conte was still director of scouting. But McLeod is all him and it's still too early to tell...though early returns suggest likely disappointment |

It just shows how hard it is to make the right picks.
Reid put up 62 goals his draft year passing team records set by Steve Stamkos. Johnny G put up 37 goals for Boston U. and was more undersized. Granted Johnny G put up more assists but still who knew? And around them are a bunch of guys you probably never heard of will never hear of again.
Interestingly we drafted Blake Coleman at 75th ahead of both Reid and Johnny. It's also the year we had to forfeit a pick thanks to Kovalsuck. Fittingly it was the 69th pick. |

That’s cool, look at his first round picks in Pitt, other than Crosby, malkin, fluery. |
