I'm still trying to figure out how a Blackhawk fan from 2009 to 2016 was more concerned about what Stan or McDonough said, or what the post goal song was then what was happening on the ice during the greatest period of hockey in Blackhawk history. - paulr
Who said I stopped being a fan after 2016? Would love to know.
Im sorry....I don't buy into the commercial BS that the UC has become. I don't need the bells and whistles to enjoy games, never have.
I guess it's ok for a team president and GM to state this team is a playoff team prior to the season, then dismiss the coach, and yet when they miss the playoffs again this year it's ok for Stan to keep his job? I must have blacked out when the Hawks won the 3 cups who was coaching them.
Nah, not any hypocritical statements coming from this organization. |

Same thing drafting Beach with #11 said about the Builder - that drafting kids can make any GM look stoopid.
Overall, the Builder did ok in Chicago, not so much in his stint in FL. Yearning for him is silly, imo. - mohel
I just respect him for being transparent and not being a YES man....very much the reason why he was let go early in the McDonough reign.
Hes got an uphill battle in Miami. Not a strong hockey market like Tampa has become. Not for a lack of trying. Still results are what matters...... |

Careful, I got a week’s worth of poop for claiming the same - pdx2ord
Respectful poop! 6628 is a recovering insider, so perhaps he knows that Kane is pissed. If so, I'd love to hear more. If we're trying to determine WHY he's mad, that's where the ice gets thin, imo. Is he mad because of the team's performance? That he's not reaching personal goals? The the coach is doing it wrong? That he's got sore ribs? That Elbows is a cranky old curmudgeon? |

He got re-assigned by an advanced stat guy in the middle of the whole she-bang and brought back when it all exploded in the guy's face. That's the same guy who fired Gallant. I'm not defending Talon as much as pointing out there was a set back beyond his control. |

Im still figuring out how one gets drafted, makes it to the NHL, when "many" can't carry the puck into the zone. Must be great passers. - SteveRain
Or great at the dump and chase.

Ah, well I'm the poster who posted it and since I also read the article allow me to assure you that Keith's quote wasn't akin to a big F you. - EbonyRaptor
No it was more like his mind has bought in, but unfortunately his body is having a hard time keeping up. |

The market sucks, but that doesn't affect the draft. Look, I'm not dogging you or your Uncle Dale .
I appreciate the hits he had while here; he helped bring 3 Cups. So did Mike Smith. And Bowman. And many others. I don't get the board meme about which was worse - totally pointless. |

That's beautiful, I'm going to put that down as my occupation pn my tax return. Another great line.
As far as Kane goes, he has to have a guy who is a threat to score on his line. Sikura at this point is not that. So the opposition covers Kane like a blanket. And that's not the worst thing because it opens up room. But the slugs continue to pass it to Kane with 2 or 3 guys covering him, Gus and Sikura especially. WTF is 88 supposed to do? I suspect 88 knows his efforts are being wasted and that is sure to piss him off. I agree with the poster that said Colliton was trying to heat Sikura up. And I am going to give Colliton a full year before I break bad on him. But the first lesson he better learn is that Kane is not superman.

No...I agree and I'm sensitive to it at times. I have no blood relation to Uncle Dale.... |

Yes, respectful and funny poop. And, you’re right, ascribing motive or reason isn’t something I should do. |

Cam Barker and Jack Skille say he isn't as great as you think he is. - GPHawksfan
They were good compared to the russians he took in round one. What were the names - Babchuk? Vorobiev. Yakupov......I always said Skille was the one whose name was an oxymoron. He would carry the puck. Skating fast but never could score. Was with Vancouver then suddenly haven't seen his name. He might have suffered a bad injury. Whatever.
How aboit Ruuta. He never became a big scorer. Always got injured and finished with New Jersey.
The ABC line. Arnason, Bell, Calder. Well Calder was alright but a below average skater.
Not all these were on Tallon. Too many want to call him the architect of the 2010 Stanley Cup team. In fact had he drafted better we could have won more Cups and been even better. |

I want to say it was against Arizona in 2008-09 season right after they fired Savard that Sharp and Kane both made stupid plays and Q sat them.
I agree on the defensive breakdowns. Keith's inability to clear the zone led to the 2nd Philly goal last night.
Their entire D system is horrific. Fun as hell to watch as the games are wide open, but it's not built for consistent winning. - SteveRain
Crawford has been very good during this second return from concussion protocol - but he could have (and probably should have) stopped eac of the two GWGs against this week.
Defensemen - and forwards - fail to clear all the time - it’s hockey, babe - Keith’s at fault for that one - but don’t let others off the hook. It’s a team game. |

It's about WANT TO....some guys with all the skill in the world won't go near the blue paint. Its as simple as that. Shaw had no problems doing it. He has overachieved as a player and props to him for realizing his role and how he could stay in the show LT.
Go watch a practice. All these guys can carry a puck up ice into the zone. If they couldn't they wouldn't be in the NHL or hell in the AHL. - SteveRain
No, it isn't. Practice means poop compared to a game where time and space are far different. |

88 looks pissed - 6628
Frustrated. We have seen it every season when he goes through these periods. Teams are totally committed to taking him away and the Hawks are failing to take advantage of it. They continue to try to force the puck to him. |

Its pretty simple.....you stop Kane the Hawks lose. Teams are focusing on it more and more as these games hold much more significant value and if you think this is bad, if they somehow make it to the dance it will be 10000 times worse.
The lack of depth scoring and ability for others to cash in on opportunities is glaring. We can sit here and verbally stroke 95 because he's getting chances but the fact is he can't finish and if he can't finish playing with 19 and 88 who the hell thinks he will when he's in a more supportive role in the bottom 9 and playing with less skilled players? - SteveRain
No worries SR.....there is no chance that this team has the physical and mental toughness to pull it off unless they take their skirts off, leave their purses in the locker room, and start playing like men with an edge.
