I would like Stan to take a run at Taylor Raddysh or Boris Kachouck in TB. If we still have cap room going into next season take on Callahan's contract. It expires at the end of next season. Have TB throw in Raddysh and reunited the Erie Otter line of Dcat, Strome, and Raddysh.

I don't watch a ton of hockey outside the Blackhawks, but the game between the Caps and Bolts i was really impressed with his defensive awareness and nose for the puck, another guy I'd take in a heartbeat is Lars Eller

Speaking of Tampa Bay, article from mynhltraderumors regarding how the salary cap " will derail their potential dynasty".

The article says Brayden Point "could get as much as" $7M when Tampa re-signs him. I don't know which orifice the author pulled that number out of but let's hope he's correct because that would set the ceiling for Cat.

I think a healthy Boston beats them if they meet in the playoffs
- SimpleJack

That's going to be a great series should they meet. I still give the edge to the Bolts in that series. It seems to be Tampa's year to win it all.

Koekkoek can be launched, Forsling has the most upside and we have seen it. Dahlstrom has earned himself a further look. IMO.

I am also fine if none of them return.

- Elbows15

Agree with you. Definitely nothing about Koekkoek or his game says they should keep him. Forsling has had 3 half seasons of NHL experience but still young, I think there will come a time where they will have to make a decision on his future. The contract being up could push him away if he isn't willing to take another low value deal until he shows more than just potential.

Dahlstrom they should definitely retain and see if he can take that next step. He is okay as a 6-7 with potential to be a 4-5 guy.

I guess it depends on the definition of two words - dynasty and derail.

They're going to have to get rid of a few players they'd rather keep. We'll see if they're the first team unaffected by the cap.

As i watched the Caps last night i was reminded how much Orlov sucked. Which got me thinking about Gusto, if they can win a cup with Orlov playing top 4 minutes...

I don't think Tampa is at the same level of dire straits as Toronto but they certainly are vulnerable to poaching is a team is so inclined. The good news for them is their core players are outstanding and will drive success in spite of some of their depth getting watered down. There might be equal but I can't think of a better top pairing than Hedman-McDonaugh and they're both under 30 and locked up forever.

Can NOT lose to Philly tonight. They better have legs tonight, unlike the Vancouver game.

I can't see anyone beating Tampa assuming they remain healthy.

One advantage they have, is to see how the cap derailed the Hawks from winning more cups. Do the players take a little less for the good of the team or do they look out for number one? Stamkos, Hedman and Kucherov among others are on great contracts already. Be interesting to see how they manage the cap going forward and their successes.

Toronto are (frank)ed. Doing the exact opposite of Tampa in regards of trying to control the cap. Lot's of high priced forwards and woefully thin on defense.

Trouble in Toronto, sounds familiar (except Toronto hasn't won 3 cups).

1 they will have to do a better job at fighting for pucks along the boards then last night.

2 did you see the game tying goal Vas gave up last night, not pretty.

What is there 5vs5 ranking? They didn't do much against Boston or Caps?

Vasilevsky's contract is up after next year, see how much he wants, I can see $8-$10 mil.

That's what i thought about CC, $6 million dollars later, which has been a great deal for quite a while, but was surprised first hearing of it.

Interesting article. I love how it is just understood that the team is uber-talented. Seems to ignore back-end trouble.
