Hawks not overly enthused playing this New Age tilt, even after ARI lost. Why are we interested?
- gabriel

You may not be in the proper frame of mind right now after a tough loss to hear a reasonable answer to what I suspect was your rhetorical question - but here it is - because it's a long drought from the final horn of the last game the Hawks play this season until we see our Hawks on the ice again. I suppose if you're a casual fan you may feel like it's not worth your interest - but I'm not a casual fan. I'm a die hard fan that will miss watching Hawks games once their season ends and it will seem like September will never get here as I impatiently wait for training camp to open.

So I'm interested in watching every second of the remaining games.

Coach and GM IMO. Duchene and Panarin simply not doing enough and I think Seth Jones is being overworked.
- EnzoD

Their centers are totally meh. Panarin is dealing with the same things is Kane is right now. Teams are swarming them. Kane has no room. There are two guys coming at him every time. And his mates are still trying to force the puck to him. Especially on the PP.

I could see that happening. In my book, the season was highjacked by not canning Q long before they did. And, certainly the eventual timing of it caused the worst possible result. Try to learn an entirely new system. Good luck with that. The idiots.
- gabriel

Correct. Q should have been launched after last season and Barry Trotz could have at least been interviewed......but NO.

I think I can pretty much guarantee that this Hawk team under Trotz would have been better defensively and made the playoffs. Think of all the LOST PLAYOFF REVENUE Rocky from that terrible decision to keep Q just a little too long because your management group didn't have a plan !!

the hawks had chances and played well enough to win; the ones hart didn't see either did not get through, went wide or were blocked. his positioning and rebound control were excellent

that's why this game can be so infuriating...

Shot attempts: 72-44 CHI
Shots on goal: 41-28 CHI
5-on-5 scoring chances: 31-17 CHI
5-on-5 high danger chances: 5-4 PHI

kane has disappeared after carrying this team for two months...

- bogiedoc

But almost all of the shots were perimeter - top of the circles and out and around. No net presence so few rebounds attempts in the house. Only the Kampf breakaway on the PK and Saad (also on the PK?) came in alone on Hart.

It wasn’t effort that was missing, I think - they were just settling too much.

Blackhawks win - this team should be tanking, what the hell is wrong with them!

Blackhawks lose - this team sucks and has always sucked, why aren’t they trying harder and winning.

You new here?

Meanwhile, I like Kampf more every game. He can't score for poop but he is all over the ice.

- Elbows15

Agreed about Kampf. Like I said before, I’d like to see the Hawks lock him up for 2-3 years.

Add Tanev as a free agent and a healthy Caggiula and the Hawks have a solid 4th line.

Me too. I was kinda meh on him earlier and thought it was kinda silly for JC to be playing him up in the lineup, but since he's come back from injury he's played 4C pretty well. He doesn't have much offense but then neither did Kruger for all those years and he played a pretty solid 4C for us during 2 Cup runs.

They have earned my fandom by never quitting. I can accept the results. I believe that this organization truly wants to win. From the top down. So yeah, it sucks that they are in a bit of a down cycle but I think they have shown a lot of positives to build on going forward.

Yeah Dubois is in a deep rut. He’s going to be a top Center for a long time, but he’s only 20.

He was miscast as a 3C earlier. He has all the attributes to be a vg shutdown center.

I don't generally get pissed off, but tonight's game pissed me off. I cared more than they seemed to. And, yes, I will be in withdrawal until fall. Thanks.

One step at a time.

Next season add Jokiharju and an experienced d-man through trade or free agency and trade/ assign to Rockford two of Koekkoek, Forsling and Dahlstrom.

There was nothing wrong with their effort. Toews, Saad, Strome, Sikura, AA, Kampf were winning board battles all over the place. Forsling was diving breaking up plays. Murphy was all over the ice. They for sure could have executed better in some areas but I didn't see anyone out there not giving a poop.

Meh. Which Forsling. Cause the one the last 6-7 games has been very good.

Well, someone better tell Coots to feel shame cause Sikura beat him twice in board battles. Not to mention the ape Meyers.

All in all, it HAS been an entertaining season. If, however, Colliton trots out the exact same defensive scheme next year......I'll want to rhetorically choke him to death. What say you, Elbows?

They struggled with the zone scheme Q used. So I don't know what the answer is there. Better puck management would go a long way to helping to make the defense look better.
