How the nut is cut affects this too. And the nut is more likely to be cut correctly if someone's paid to do it properly.

Also, the same for fretwork.

- TheMussel

You can also learn to do that yourself and cost you nothing.

the bit is in quite poor taste regardless of global events, in hindsight

C'mon, I think we get a little carried away.

I go for guitars that I don't have to tune up in the middle of a song and doesn't cut my left hand up.
- TheMussel

That's a good start!

Which I have. It costs time, material and tools, which could well be applied to the cost of a guitar for someone who doesn't care to deal with that stuff.

Alls I'm saying is there's some 100$ guitars out there that sound fantastic in the hands of Steve Vai. But some subset of those guitars will go out of tune as soon as he decides to do a two tone bend.

Neither of these issues have anything to do with price in any way.
- bixll

True, but in both cases, the guitar was made poorly.

Last night's stats. and Babcock is whining about depth? How about playing your best players more, Mike?
Why isn't Rielly playing more?

- RogerRoeper

I agree with you in principle. I assume he may have held them back a bit with the back to back.

Last night in here Gardiner was compared to Karlsson and Burns

He is compared to the other 6/7 guys we have right now.

I heard the baseball season started today, but the teams that played in Japan now have to come home and play a few more preseason games. Is MLB even dumber than the NHL?

i cant imagine a 225 flex. would be impossible to do anything
- Cherry--Skoal

I was going for cheap laughs with 225, but it eas definitely in the 150-160 range (I will do a google search).

It’s funny - I have been trolling the ACC souvenir shop since the day it opened - always laughing at the game-used sticks, because I could never use them in a game (too stiff, and too tall, which would make them even stiffer). In the past five years, that has changed. Guys playing with 75 flex sticks.

Weird tangential note: it appears Marleau saws the butts off his sticks before he gives them to Leafsports.

Very true. Spending $500K on a '59 Les Paul will not make you Jimmy Page.

How?

tragedies happen everyday - somewhere in the world

someone dies of aids - guess we cant tlka about it

someone dies in a plane accident - no more airport jokes

someone dies of old age somewhere in uzbekastan - lets not joke about retirement homes

poop happen man - life goes on

if he had of said - hey you look like those people who got shot in NZ with that pube beard.

THAT would be offensive.

- Cherry--Skoal

I dont really want to get into it, but my Wife is currently working in New Zealand and has been for several months. It has been a pretty upsetting experience. If you dont see it or dont care, then thats fine.

That it is.

I get the humour behind the images and iv seen the jackass movie, but thinking about what happened in NZ removes any of that

He said he tell how expensive the guitar was by its sound.. which laughable. But, whatever floats his boat.
