We're making soft backhand sauce passes on the PP in the 1st 10 mins....ya, soft weak backhand sauces that end up in our end.....hard to (frank)ing score when you can't get over the blue line on the PP. The more money they make the prettier the pass has to be I guess.
On a good note, I'd like to see Matthews play like he did last night for the rest of the year. ( except the 1st 10 mins when he was trying to make soft weak backhand sauce passes ) - Garnie
So true...Muzzin is really taking filling in for Gardiner a little too literally...that was brutal.
Matthews played well. He does need to work on things though. Last year/earlier this year if he was anywhere near the puck, it typically wound up on his stick. He needs to get his mojo going again. |

Who gave it away on the final (EN) goal?
It was franking brutal. A soft backhand into the middle of the ice, with the net empty.
Pathetic. |

If they keep this pace going, they will not have to play Boston, or Anyone in the playoffs..... |

I love Matthews...the quick back hand pass when he can just make a normal pass kills me when it doesn't work. But after the 1st 10 he played like he could be the best player in the game, probably the best I've seen him look most of the year. IMO
Muzzin, everyone looks at his CF% and says he's playing great but it doesn't show the giveaways in real bad spots....still like his play but....................... |

Don't know, I blacked out. Preds did a good job with the empty net though. Didn't give the leafs any space to set up. Pulling the goalie with 3+ minutes left was weird, but whatever, I guess Babsy accepted the L already. |

A few thoughts:
1. First and foremost, I'm supposed to be the grumpy old bastard here. Get off my lawn.
2. For all the doom and gloom around here, the Leafs are still 6th in the league.
3. The only team that can punt the Leafs out of the 3-slot is the Habs. If the Leafs go 3-6 for the rest of the year, the Habs would have to go 7-1-1 to overtake us.
That's not happening. |

Cody Franson was an analytics daring too and both the leafs and Sabres bit the bullet on that one. Muzzin is the same player with the leafs as he was in LA for the most part. Take the good with the bad. |
