Yeah he is elevating his game at the right time here. Still think he should be out there more too as far as ice time goes. That said I also have to wonder if he has not been hurt some, especially during that one stretch where he seemed to stay at the perimeter more and not really engage as much.

Yeah though if he plays HIS way, it is kinda like Leetch and some of those other defencemen, they force you to the boards, strip you of the puck and turn it the other way constantly and were damn good at it. Z tended to hit when he got a guy in that position too, or stood them up.

To me it is like with Dion. If he was playing offensive style he could skate and hit and move and wasn't bad. We had him paired with Aulie who was terrible but physical and stayed back and Dion had a good year. Make him a stay at home hit guys defenceman and he suddenly is exposed and was a pylon
