Just reading the Athletic's daily NHL playoff chances board thingy:

They list Toronto at 51% for winning the first round.

Boston at 49%.

Interesting.

Franking bizarre Completely wrong, but interesting.

This is the first time in Sabres history we’ve lost 4 straight to the Leafs dating back to last seaso.

time to fire Dubas and get a GM that doesn't think you can run a team from a spreadsheet.

The board ALWAYS wants to discuss it so that they have an informed decision when they vote. I've been on boards before and you would be shocked at the silly things that get discussed for ages.

While that's true, I've also seen boards simply approving management decision with question at first and ask for details later.

I believe that's the case with NHL teams since these decisions are taken quickly and acted upon just as fast.

I’m totally fine with the Leafs making it 5 straight if it means a top 5 pick this year.

That's some outdated 1970s thinking right there, I like it!

So James Tanner won't be considered?

That is not incorrect. Boards usually rubber stamp management decisions, but they still have to do it.

You're in good with the senior folks in the Habs organization, right? You should get Tanner a job, he would fit right in!

I'd like to see them go back to the system where the trainer was in charge of all injuries, as well as hauling the equipment from the bus to the dressing room and back.

As long as he has the proper liniment to rub on injuries, we can reduce man-games lost to injuries.

Especially the concussions. A little smelling salts, and get that guy back out there!

Don't try and link Tanner with the Habs.

He's a die hard Leafs fan.

He's your garbage, you keep it.

We already have McCagg to handle.

Awesome!

We should also go back to the system where the coach gets a pool of money and 'negotiates' player salaries out of that. What's left over is what he pays himself. It was always so fair, and the whole Nylander fiasco could never have happened.
