I'm not sure I've ever seen an NHL tender have this much trouble catching a puck.

Glad to see that Murray is officially at Fleury level with this fan base now.

Pens dominated that game for the most part. Frankly, they've been very good defensively for several games now.

Rumors floating around that it's not too bad. Maybe see him late next week.

IMO unless he’s 100% they might as well just hold him out at this point.

One freaking softy on 30 shots and he was about to get all the blame if we didn’t win in OT/SO. Absurd. This is how we summon the ghost of holeinone.

They have a 3 day break next week. If those rumors are true, we could see him on the 29th against Nashville.

It’s so irrational it defies description. He can make 4 or 5 crazy saves and let’s one in and it’s all of a sudden, “See, he doesn’t come up big at the right time.”

Back when stand up goalies were the norm, goals like this were called the AHL side. Now with the butterfly tenders this type of goal happens quite often.

How. Flower is a great human being. Murray is a piece of human trash that sometimes stops pucks?

He really doesn’t though. Murray isn’t steam on my back type of goalie like MAF can be. He plays solid and well enough to win as long as the teams playing well, and then makes excuses in the media about how it’s not his fault when he sucks. MAF wouldput it all on himself for a poopty performance. Yeah (frank) Murray just stop pucks so my favorite team can win.

It was a sneaky shot/goal...Ellis could take that exact shot in that situation 10 more times and it not go on.

Definitely a low percentage shot. It also requires that the goalie gets a piece of the puck and deflects into the net. The bigger picture just shows how the goaltending position has changed over the years. Thirty years ago that doesn't go in. Today it is more important to cover the bottom and accept those types of goals.

Goaltenders are more skilled today than they were thirty years but that isn't the only reason save percentages have sky rocketed. The major reason is the butterfly style is more efficient. Even if the short side is more exposed than it used to be.

Murray cheated a bit for a pass across that didnt happen...Ellis shot instead. Very small area for that to go in but it did.
