Sure. We might get less stupid penalties and less flashy plays but the results wouldn’t be much worse, if any |

I know, had some bait so I figured I would try to catch 1 more fish
risto is not as bad as we vent
not as good as we want
somewhere in the middle
after saying that I would be open to trading him this summer, but for the right return |

I agree with this. If he was a 2nd or 3rd pairing RHD he isn't a problem. He played his best hockey this season with Pilut who I'm hoping is a regular next year. However I do dangle him in the offseason and if a team overpays then bye bye. |

I'm a big risto fan, but -39 is not a fluke
He has been losing in s Sabres uniform for a long time.
Might be time to cash in this offseason
Montour trade is foreshadowing in my opinion |

Good stuff in this post Fitz.
In a Cap controlled league, creating the best Front Office and Scouting department is a smart and effective way to maximize the opportunity for championships.
Botts has had 2 Drafts, 1 very early in his position...and he has done relatively well. Last years seems to be pretty, pretty good.
I'm not sure how much they overhauled the Scouting Departmdnt, but they seem to have improved under Botts, so far. I know the expanded with more scouts in Europe, but did they improve upon other that were there?...I don't know the answer other than the results so far seem better.
I think Botts is a smart guy with excellent experience for past 7 years or so...that said, having another layer there with outstanding experience would add tremendous value to the off-ice organization.
Pegulla's are obviously smart, why they haven't yet figured it out is beyond sound reasoning. - IonSabres
Botts drafting looks good so far...
but we don’t really know yet
How many guys in the past have looked good only to disappoint?
While I’m encouraged by Botts drafting so far,
I don’t think it would hurt to bring in Stevie Y too |

Its the toxic environment, using lion eater as an example, Nolan vs Bylsma.

Miska Kukkonen (5th rounder 2018) appeared in all 3 of his Liiga teams first round playoff series playing a shade under 17 minutes a night. Nice to see he’s already playing with men. Maybe in a few years he’s a sleeper we can add to the roster. |

Tampa is +100. buffalo is -35. Pretty sure Risto is not a minus player on Tampa, or a real NHL team for that matter - gordong
Good post
+/- is generally more of a team stat than an individual one
I remember when a bunch of ppl on here wouldn’t touch OV in a trade after that bad
+/- season he had |

A coach that doesnt put his players in positions to maximize their effectiveness will create that kind of environment.
Im not saying the players are blameless...but the tire fire that has been the season post-streak is on Housely's shoulders. The constant line juggleing...the blind commitment to vets...the list goes on. |

Risto + for Trouba - Pegullaville
How much does a contract for Trouba cost?
Something in the area of 7mil per would be my guess
That’s pretty pricy imo
I’d call Anaheim back up & see if they wanna make more changes this offseason
Minny has gotta be about ready for an overhaul too I’d think |

a young assistant captain telling a team mate to go F himself, doesn't help

I heard about this last winter, when I jokingly called him clank
kept it to myself for 14 or 15 moves due to the love affair people have with him
again he is a very good player, before anyone changes my words |

Hard to figure out what Minny will do
They’re stuck with the Parise & Suter contracts...
so it kinda keeps them in “win now” mode
But they gotta realize they just can’t really compete with the Preds & Jets
Maybe moving the younger Vets like Spurgeon, Zucker, etc would be the best way for them to rebuild on the fly? |
