Man, the fruits of GMTM’s labor keep coming in. Good thing we have a putz that doesn’t have a clue to reap the rewards. Like they always say, 3ER isn’t always right, but ain’t ever been wrong. I’ve been living off the interest for years with that take.

Or it could be 2022-2023 and Skinner is a 45-50 point player making $9M under contract for another 4-5 years and we have no cap space to sign our top 10 pick or anyone to surround our core and we are stuck in cap hell. We’ll never know. - Pegullaville
Let Skinner walk if he demands over 7.5 million... some Sabers fans way over value him...without Jack on his line he's a 20 goal scorer... |

GMTM is like the defensive back that got toasted 12 times a game and made one pass breakup and puffed his chest all the way to the sideline. |

I don’t know why you dislike him so much. Yinz would have a lot in common by the sounds of it. |

Probably because he screwed up this rebuild so bad, and had zero plan for Rochester... but that's a just a guess.... |

GMTM had the right intentions. Just moved to quickly. He devoided a boatload of assets to try to win before building a foundation. If he makes those moves a year or two later then he is still here and Bylsma still very well might be the coach. |

You know he averages 30 goals per 82 games, right? Take away this year and it's still 28.89 per 82. |

Eh... 25-30 goal wingers are easy to find.... the Sabres are littered with them.
If skinner walks the Sabres are at least three years from competing, even with skinner they might be that far away... |

I'm torn on Skinner right now. I have liked him since he came into the league.
However, anything over 8 million per is madness.
The entire team has sucked crap for the past 4 months so I'm not going to single-him and his 37 goals out for slowing down too hard over the last couple months and he might still be dealing with a high-ankle sprain...
30+ every year for the next 5 years isn't far-fetched to expect from him, but he's a 50-60 point player other than that... But it would lock up a winger to waste alongside Eichel for the next half-decade.
Touch decision. Over 8, you have to get rid of Okposo. But even then, it's a hard sell at this point. |

I am hoping the reports from media and from Homie that Term is the issue are correct.
If Homie is right that Botts is holding to 4 or 5 years, I'm good with going to $8.5m.
The longer the term, reduce by say $500k - $750 per year. Want 7 years, well that is $7.25m then...8 is $6.75m.
Something along those lines. |

This was mentioned to me yesterday while discussing skinner. If true, its the most positive scenario to explain why he hasnt been signed.
I would be ecstatic with a 5 year deal for him |

We were rumoured to sign JVR or trade for Patches this past offseason. Either of them would have done the same thing beside Jack this year and not cost us $9M a year to keep around.
Ever since Mark stone got traded to Vegas they are 9-1. He is worth every penny of his $9.5M contract. Why ? Cause he is the best if not one of the best two way forwards in the NHL. Skinner scores a lot of goals, but you can’t trust his play away from the puck and he doesn’t get many assists. Do you really think skinner is worth 500K less then Stone because he can deposit Eichel feeds ? I like Skinner, I hope he says in Buffalo for a long time but nothing about the past 15 games screams $9M AAV to me. I hope Botts is holding firm on a $7.85-8.25M AAV and that’s what the hold up is about. |

IMO, Required moves by Botts this offseason
-Win a Top 3 pick in Lottery, Draft a RW for Jack who is a sniper and plays with an edge. (Looking at you Cozens)
-Sign Skinner to a decent contract, shorter term is critical
-Trade Risto (add if necessary) for a stud Top 6...2C, 2LW (Hint: RNH, Huberdeau)
-Buy an aged, solid RhD for Dahlin for next 2 - 3 years (Hint: Strahlman)
-Buy a 2LW who can net 25/25 (Hint: Dzingel)
-Require Mitts to put on 15lbs of muscle
-Require Thompson to
A) take skating lessons from McDavid's skating coach
B) put on 15lbs of muscle
C) have Messier's Frontal Lobe inserted in his head
-Dump, buyout Scandella
-Do not bring Pommer back, that ship has sailed.
-Dump Sobotka, if not, then let Girgenson and Larsson walk (or trade them for those coveted 6th rounders)
-Find a way to get rid of Sheary, retain 50% if necessary...or include $3m in cash to a team that needs money (looking at you Ottawa)
Ok, GO! WTF are you waiting for.
