Yeah, but I don't trust that Seattle will get everything right like Vegas has. Even though they proceeded to trade a bunch of their picks, their drafting philosophy has been an excellent match with my own. They even built a legitimate #1 line (Pacioretty- Stastny- Stone) in just one year with players acquired via normal acquisition pathways (non-expansion). - MaximumBone
They might not but then I ask myself this question “can Seattle coming out of the draft be better then the Oilers?” The answer would be yes....my criteria isn’t high since I cheer for this team

AM is already elite.... he's just injury prone and lacks heart. The fact that Toronto MSM continues to mention him in the same breath as McDavid is hilarious. - Reveen.
Ik. I said he's elite already.
The reason I'd take off 1 million off his contract is because of the fact he's injury prone & because I find him inconsistent.
You liking thr Kofi build up by the way? |

The NHL stacked the deck for Vegas along with Florida's stupidity and William Karlsson coming out of nowhere it really wasn't that hard. |

I am having a hard time with WWE's booking lately.... it's almost like the Oilers are running that show too. |

Just spitballing here, and maybe I'm overvaluing RNH but here it goes:
With the ACL injury to Koivu, maybe Minnesota would be willing to move Suter for RNH? But he has a 7.5M AAV and is playing in his home state with a NMC. At age 34 with 6 (!) more years signed, unlikely that would happen.
With how mediocre Staal has been in Carolina, perhaps they would be interested in upgrading their 2C? Dougie Hamilton has been traded a million times, why not once more? Similar AAV and length to RNH.
Rasmus Ristolainen's name has been thrown around a few times, and Skinner hasn't singed an extension yet. RNH can play C and W, providing versatility when Rodrigues/Mittelstadt struggle. Buffalo would be weak on D if he moved though, so unlikely.
And for good fun, if Hall gets Larsson, maybe RNH can get us Griffin Reinhart! Overall, I don't see any teams with a decent expendable RHD that would justify moving RNH for. - CakeEater
Staal is fine. He's been recovering from a concussion and is perfectly suited for a middle 6 C.
You're not getting Dougie Hamilton for Nuge. The dude is really, really (frank)ing good.

Florida gave them almost a full line and a very good coach.
Florida is a pretty poop organization too.
Same with Buffalo. |

I think Vegas is also exempt from the expansion draft....they will be contenders for years to come

This team is a (frank)ing joke.
I have been disappointed in Rieder sure. But he was nothing more than a fourth liner that can PK and skate. Yeah he's had opportunities to score which he should have. But if he scored 15 goals they'd make the playoffs? Get the (frank) out of here with that bullpoop.
No mention of Lucic... If they hadn't signed him, they'd have 6 million of cap off the books. Or better yet Taylor Hall who would have put up probably around 35.
Move after move Nicholson allowed Chiarelli to make stupid (frank)ing trades. At some point it's YOUR fault. Nicholson, as everyone knows on the site, is the real problem. Not Chiarelli (although Chiarelli was a problem too) and not Reider.
And I would bet that Gretzky will more than likely be hired as the GM which is the final straw for me. There's so many better options and you hire someone who sat by Chiarelli and hasn't shown any potential to actually be good?
And Koskinen... oh boy. I was wrong. I'll be the first to admit it. He's a alright back-up to a fringe starter. Very inconsistent. But you made the decision to sign him to a 4.5 million dollar contract? It's just (frank)ing absurd how (frank)ed this organization is from top to bottom.
It should be easy. You have (frank)ing Connor McDavid and Draisaitl, a potential number one dman, Nurse who is a fine player & Nugent-Hopkins a very good 2C. Yet they surrond these player with a few good bottom 6 players (Kassian, Gagner, Khaira, Chiasson). And yes I was wrong about Chiasson. Everyone else (frank)ing sucks ass. Such as a (frank)ing anchor in Lucic, old man Brodziak, "It's all your fault" Reider, a bunch of AHL players who have actually done fine (Currie, Cave).
You had Hall, Eberle, a 16th which you could have drafted a great player, and so on and so forth. Y'all know about this poop. It's not even worth writing about at this point.
(frank) this team. - Oilers4Life14
I don’t know who this Frank guy is but you sure seem to like him! Maybe Frank could add some depth to your team! |

Trading nuge at his highest value is the best time. Top young right shot d man or some scoring wingers. Have to be careful with the seattle draft as well. Let the new gm assess things and make the trade, his stamp on his new team. |

Dreger just tweeted this
“Bob Nicholson just spoke with Toby Rieder. He apologized for his comments criticizing Rieder at a season ticket event. Nicholson said he “stepped out of bounds”. Hoping they can all move on.”
Too late for that you idiot |

Yeah Becky losing pretty much all momentum because of stupid booking really pissed me the (frank) off.
Same with Angle's last match.
Same with Braun
Same with their flip-flopping with Dean.
Same with the League of Nations 2.0, they should have done something with Rusev
Same with whoever is Universal Champion.
Same with the absolutely horrendous way they've dealt with the NXT callups. All four of those guys should be (frank)ing stars and they're just nobodies.
Really only interested in Miz being a babyface, the Kofi storyline, KO being back (I think after Kofi wins KOs is turning heel), Bryan's character and them maybe building up Drew MacIntyre to be a (frank)ing great heel... which he should have been from the start.
I miss over Braun tho. |

That has no bearing on their acquisitions this season, though. All of Stastny, Pacioretty and Stone were acquired since July last year. This team cares about winning in a way I've never seen Edmonton even approach. The Oilers and even our fanbase have been tentative beyond reason to surrendering the future to win in the present. |

But man Vegas amd McPhee are insane. They may win it all and no one is gonna claim "bias" again. |

Rule #1: Err on the side of aggression. If you make a mistake or give up an odd man rush, it's fine so long as you were pushing for a goal. If it's because you were floating, you'll be benched.
Defense ALWAYS has the green light to jump in the rush.
You can turn the puck over in the offensive zone as much as you want as long as you're busting your ass on the back check to get it back.
Put a guy through the glass if you have an opportunity, but goal #1 is getting the puck back any way you can.
Lines will stay the same all game.
If the team is way up or way down, the Aho line will see fewer minutes. If the game is within one, they'll play 25+. |
