CapFriendly is showing that it doesn't. According to their FAQ, it looks like it's because he turns 20 in October.

"If the player is 19 on September 15 of the first year of their contract, and turns 20 between September 16 and December 31, their contract does not slide."

The Canucks' only prospects who are young enough that their contracts will slide are Jonah Gadjovich, Michael DiPietro and Jett Woo.

Pearson also had two goals and an assist, giving him 13 goals and 21 points for the year. After being bounced from the Kings to the Penguins before landing in Vancouver, he has four goals and six points in his 11 games since joining the Canucks, which works out to 0.55 points per game—exactly on par with his best season in Los Angeles, when he had 24 goals and 44 points in 2016-17.

If they really wanted to punish him they should have told him his contract just got extended two more years in Ottawa

Now that Sven is activated do Canucks need to make a roster move?

I hesitate to post this as it might upset Leafs trolls and cause them fits

Ya McDavid is just that good. If only they hadn't hired Chiapet and ruin their team for the first 7 years of his career.

IF by some circumstance Benning was gassed as G.M. , think we would have a shot at Yzerman ? Or are there other candidates that would be more promising. It seems like Yzerman is starting to put out signals that he wants to get back into the game. Maybe he could be the new superboss ?

Yzerman is going to Detroit, Unless we made him the highest paid GM ever by a MASSIVE margin. Even then he might not come here.

Yup. As nice as it would be to get him, he's definitely Holland's replacement in Detroit.

Probably, i also doubt that the Aquilinis would give him the degree of control he would want to take the job

Interesting results, a separate players poll from a month or so ago had crosby as the best still. I cant remember how many were polled though.

Remember that he stepped down in Tampa to have a lighter load and spend more family time. Sounds like he doesn't want a GM job since he took himself out of GM of 1 of jockeys top teams. If it happened it would have to be Detroit where his family is deeply rooted.

On the other hand Detroit is a sh*t hole of a city, can't imagine anyone willingly wanting to live there

I think the big question should be what rounds of the playoffs should we use him in the first round or cup finals?

Save him for the conference final.
