For being as bad as they have been for this long, you would hope they had some better prospects and more of them in the pipeline than they do. Yes, there are some guys with potential, but I don’t think they are above average, which is sad.

6 years of being bad is a long time? I can't imagine how Chicago, Edmonton, leaves fans felt after 10 years of sucking.

There just isn't that many spectacular players that come out of every draft. On average you can probably get 15 top 6 forwards, 5 top 4 D and another 20 quality depth players. 40 players out of 217.

The only thing that put Van ahead of other teams is Pettersson and Hughes. Otherwise just about every team has the same talent in their system.

Virtanen......flat out nuts to trade this guy. You can't replace that speed. He's starting to figure it out, likely a consistent 20 goal guy. Plays middle 6 and great on the PK. Just no.

Hutton - you keep this guy until Juolevi shows up. On the Left side, Edler, Hughes, Juolevi, Hutton. You don't just trade a top 4 defenseman because you have a bottom pairing guy in the wings. Makes the team weaker, sorry.

Tanev - ugh, shouldve been dealt a while ago. Now, you keep him to add depth to the bottom 2 pairings. Again, you don't trade the guy unless you have a replacement for him.

Sutter - officially replaceable with Gaudette. This one isnt even a debate so Im with you on this one.

Goldobin - watching him you can tell that theres something there. He's lost in Vancouver tho. They will trade him and he will make JB look really, really bad. He's going to score 20-25 goals and get 50-55 pts.

He plays fine with Stecher and Tanev, and when he was with Gudbranson he was dragged down but still performed better than Guddy. If 2/3 of our RHD are suitable partners for him I'd say it's fine.
