If Hextall we’re still here, Hakstol would still be here, and we would be contending for Jack Hughes instead of watching interesting hockey. - SuperSchennBros
I'm so glad hak is gone. He never had this team playing for him. Nobody gave him a nod of confidence on his departure.
The team didnt like the old regime and from the sounds of it I don't blame the players.
With that said....if there is another slow start next season I dont know what is left to do besides blow up the core |

I really think they ride Hart until they are eliminated. Then they probably throw some games to Talbot. - dragonoffrost
Hart as starter yes but I wouldnt play him for all 8 games, especially Sat\Sun B2B. |

Bill,
If the Isles dress Mark Martin, Clutterbuck, Mayfield and Ross Johnston do you see Gordon dressing Morin just as a precaution?
I get they are trying to ice the best team while they are mathematically in it but it's not beyond the Isles to try to run people through the end boards if they feel they can get away with it as a message on the Boychuk incident....especially if they have a playoff spot locked up. |

What Hextall did from a business standpoint of Stocking the cupboards was outstanding but he Neglected the product on the ice.
This summer there are no excuses. You have three skilled centers, top line wingers, a number one defenseman with support and a starting goalie. Get a big fish coach and fill in the gaps. |

Do you think it's a good idea or reasonable to play Morin and saddle him with the responsibility of taking on any physical battles that may occur due to the Boychuk incident? |

Yes. He's going to get hurt anyways. Might as well make it count |

Alright Sam, you've played a grand total of 3 games all year and have been sitting in the press box for month...Go out there, run around and smash people and fight a bunch of tough guys!!!
What a GOOD idea. |

Flyers need the win more then anything. I know it sucks to say but if the Islanders run around to just hit and fight then you take it, take the PP's and try to get out of there with a win.
And I love good physical fights and chaos. but they need the win more |

Agreed.
That being said, I think we've reached the apex of the Corban Knight experiment with his goal last night, and would rather go with 11F/7D the next 2 games. Has nothing to do with Morin being an intimidating force, I'd just like them to use it for a game or 2 as an avenue to get him acclimated. |

I think Boychuk is a jackass, but I think he'll fight his own battle on this one, if a battle is to be fought. |

I agree. Let Boychuk and Voracek go at it and that will be the end of it. Atleast it should be.

Exactly. And Jake isn't one to shy away if challenged, so if Boychuk wants a fight, Jake will likely oblige him and that should end it. |

He's played a grand total of 7 games since November 2017 and only was able to finish 4 of them (re-aggravation of core muscle issue during outdoor game in Hershey in January 2018, tore ACL in 1st pd of game 3 of Charlotte series last April, dehydration/cramping issues in his first AHL conditioning stint game).
So Sam has essentially only played four games in the last 16 months. There is zero chance they'll dress him tomorrow night. Even if there were two injuries or two more flu victims who have to miss a game, they'd call up someone who has at least been playing.
Morin will ONLY see a game or two after the Flyers are mathematically eliminated. Even then, they might just table it until training camp when he'll have had a full healthy summer (knock wood) and is on equal game-conditioning footing.
Even if you dress him before this season ends, you can't possibly get a fair gauge on his play after all the time he's missed. It would give him a bit of peace of mind but beyond that, there really isn't much benefit to it. |

don't play Morin because in part they can still make the playoffs, main reason is that he hasn't played
That said back to reason 1
if they are trying to win do we want Jake in the box for 5? or possibly hurt?

Since no one wants to play. If my math is correct, these are the Flyers record each of the last 4 years from January 1st until the end of the year, with this year being incomplete. |

No, they're Flyers' line combos.
Don't you remember the Druce - Metropolit - Barber line of the mid 80s?
I mean, they weren't as memorable as the Kordic - Falloon - McGillis combo, but they're better than the Renberg - Daigle - Lilja line. |
