He's played a grand total of 7 games since November 2017 and only was able to finish 4 of them (re-aggravation of core muscle issue during outdoor game in Hershey in January 2018, tore ACL in 1st pd of game 3 of Charlotte series last April, dehydration/cramping issues in his first AHL conditioning stint game).
So Sam has essentially only played four games in the last 16 months. There is zero chance they'll dress him tomorrow night. Even if there were two injuries or two more flu victims who have to miss a game, they'd call up someone who has at least been playing.
Morin will ONLY see a game or two after the Flyers are mathematically eliminated. Even then, they might just table it until training camp when he'll have had a full healthy summer (knock wood) and is on equal game-conditioning footing.
Even if you dress him before this season ends, you can't possibly get a fair gauge on his play after all the time he's missed. It would give him a bit of peace of mind but beyond that, there really isn't much benefit to it. - bmeltzer
Thanks for setting the record straight on Morin. It just amazes me how many still think that he is an impact player, ready to go, just waiting for his shot. Nothing in his recent history indicates that this is so.

No, they're Flyers' line combos.
Don't you remember the Druce - Metropolit - Barber line of the mid 80s?
I mean, they weren't as memorable as the Kordic - Falloon - McGillis combo, but they're better than the Renberg - Daigle - Lilja line. - jmatchett383
They could be Flyer lines. |

how many are fighting the Flu now? - wcorvette
At least 10 guys either have it (including a couple that played through it last night), had it pretty severely and are now feeling better (Hartman, Giroux, Myers, Morin) or are starting to come down with it.
Yes, they had flu shots. No it didn't prevent it. A lot of teams are flu-riddled around the league right now but the Flyers have been especially hard hit.

don't play Morin because in part they can still make the playoffs, main reason is that he hasn't played
That said back to reason 1
if they are trying to win do we want Jake in the box for 5? or possibly hurt? - wcorvette
No we don't want either of the latter but it has to happen.

Ladies and Gentlemen.
We finally have the franchise goalie we have been seeking, and we have him for the foreseeable future. (as does my fantasy keeper team)
There, I said it. - MBFlyerfan
Cue Hart tripping over a crack in the sidewalk and suffering a career ending injury in T minus 5, 4, 3...
{Negadelphia reigns!)
He does seem like the real deal so someone should lock him in the training room and keep him out of trouble in the offseason. |

People ready scratch Hägg for Morin and Hägg was long making the team before Morin got hurt. |

Who are those 3? Hart is one of the most decorated junior goalies in history. - MJL
I'd say Ersson looks like he has a shot to get there, the guy is having a dominate year, and is poised to make is senior national team debut at 19 years old. Ustimenko and Sandstrom are fine prospects, maybe even NHL starter level potential, but not franchise goalie level prospects like Hart appears to be, and Ersson appears to have the potential for. Regardless, it's a breath of fresh air to have home grown goalies looking like they could be the real deal for the first time in a very long time. |

Since no one wants to play. If my math is correct, these are the Flyers record each of the last 4 years from January 1st until the end of the year, with this year being incomplete. - FlyerFan16
They kinda looked like someone’s 3 on 3 player lineup combos at first glance, but the 19 19 threw that out.

can't have Jake in the box for 5 - wcorvette
Put Bailey in Jake's Jersey and vice versa.
Tim Sauders: I wonder why Coach Gordon is giving Bailey so much time this period.
Coatsey: I dunno Tim. Coach must have seen something he liked in that Chicago game, but there also seems to be something a bit different with Bailey tonight too. Has he been working on his beard? |

Thanks for the information. The flu outbreak has no doubt had an impact on the play in the last 4 or so games. It would be great to be in a better position for playoffs so that the little problems that crop up aren’t so impactful.

Great hockey fact of the day:
I just learned that the next time I say, "Remember that time Stu Grismon went crazy and tried to fight an entire team by himself?" that I have to specify which time I'm talking about. |

Flu shots arent designed to prevent the Flu. They are designed to teach your body how to fight it if you get it. That is why they inject you with a Benign flu virus |

It sucks , in a way to say this, but I am already counting down the days to next season.
More young players, more Hart , possibly a new coach (not that I think Gordon is horrible) and whatever inevitable moves they make in the off season. |

I didn't ever get one until I had kids. Never had the flu since.
I mean, it's just a small version of a dead virus based on what they THINK the most common strain will be, so it's not exactly an immunization...but it's better than nothing. |

Approximately 1978 I got a shot for the swine flu. It made me more sick than I have ever been. I never got another flu shot and I never regretted it. |
