Goalies get a handful of shutouts a year. If the expectation is that anytime the Pens have a 1-0 or even 2-0 lead that our goalie must pitch a shutout to be doing his job that’s just unrealistic.

It isn’t that Murray sucks, it is that in a playoff chase as well as tight games in the playoffs giving up THAT goal doesn’t serve. Lastnights was bad, but didn’t kill due to the fact that they pulled out the win and it was out of conference.

In the playoffs you can’t give that up.

You could just as easily say the forwards cant let Rinne beat them like that. It was a 1-0 game, and the forwards werent scoring on their (many)
chances.

I agree completely that the team needs to score more and the PP needs to be better. 100%. But they didn’t and it wasn’t so you need that save. And it has just been that save...it has been several times that a shot from his left from 30 feet has gotten by. That is all I am saying. They always say in the playoffs, in a 7 game series, you have to win one goal games, it would be good to not need to bit if you have to...
