I have to think they'll bring in someone with experience on a decent contract. I like the idea of adding an Anton Stralman. Assuming, he can stay healthy. - PatC80

Oh so if we had anothers mvp players, wed still be in the playoff. Ok
Hes the mvp, no question. This team sinks or swims based on him - Fakepartofme
Any starting goalie would get this team in the playoffs, and I'm actually talking starting goalies.
Not some slug on a bottom feeder. |

I watch a lot of Marlies games. Liljegren, when healthy, has been really good. And him and Rosen play very well together.
I'd be shocked if he isn't on the roster next season (or at least heavily considered/late cut). Again, if healthy. - GreatGigInTheSky
And what about the guy Sandin started the season 18 years old. Some say he’s the best D on the Marlies right now. |

How about no Gards or Hainsey contract plus salary cap increase maybe?! Possibly move Brown since he only pk's really at 2 mil or so and we use Kap and Marner now more on PK along with Hyman. Zaitsev traded and moved and replaced with a cheaper option.
Plenty of cap space and that is without considering more interesting scenarios if the team wanted. |

Except Marners new contract will take p most of it.
And the 4 or 5 other guys that have to make up the 23 manroster. |

Again wait and see we have a lot of flexibility and it is nowhere near this doom and gloom nonsense being run out. The sky is NOT falling, we have a lot of players locked up and a few more to do and we have movable players on solid contracts at that too.
It is almost comical the hand wringing and the narrative being spewed by the media to sensationalize and work it all up and how many bite while other teams piss and moan how we are so doomed on top of it. |

Well I know they coudn't do anything at the trade deadline cause they only had 3 mill left and they needed that for bonuses that they couldn't carry over till next year cause they won't hve the cap space to carry them over. |

Yeah because we added ahead of time in Muzzin, and a small addition in Petan. And we could have added but it had to be a hockey trade dollar in and out. Not that we couldn't do a move at all.The fact we didn't add a Glendinning over priced 4th liner on more than this year is a good thing not a bad. |

Marners contract talk has gone down. Because he hasn’t played like he did in the 1st half.
He will get 9-10.
They have a cheap 4th line. Z will be moved 100000%. Even if they have to use draft picks. I have a very hard time believing Dubas will be paying him 4.5 million a year. They’ll be more than fine. |

Jonathan Quick?
He has an .892 sv% and has 44% Quality Start percentage compared to Andersen's .918% and 65% QS.
If you took Quick's numbers and overlayed that with Andersen's game, you'd have a GAA of around 3.46, which is a 44 goal difference; enough to make our goal differential a -2. There are no teams in the Eastern conference playoffs with a negative goal differential. We'd be in Florida territory.
