So that leaves him trading for a top 6 forward. God help us

I would say trading for a RHD

Benning just said last week he does not intend to be a big player in free agency.

I agree enough already. I do like Beagle and Roussel even though everyone else doesn't . Now is time for trading and drafting.

As I said yesterday I see less holes on the team than most and yes I know you guys think I am nuts.

The defence needs shoring up. I think we will see an uptic of scoring with the same group of forwards next year. Deeper defence is needed. A scoring winger would be nice, ive always said i thinknthis could be a wildcard team next year/on the bubble. Were trending in the right direction.

Well I wonder what he means by "big", because he may just be talking about not going after Karlsson, Panarin, Bobrovsky, Duchene, etc.

I don't think anyone here dislikes Roussel. A lot of us do not like Beagle's contract, considering his production, age and 4th line role.

Honestly, I do think you're nuts with hat opinion, I only like a handful of players on this roster

And anyone who visits this site daily is at least a little nuts

That's the scary part, the price tag and the guy making the deal

I think Beagle was brought in to keep puck out of the net and unlike Tanev he is usually healthy and available.

He has a full NTC until next season, so I think he has to provide his 15 team NT list on July 1. I mean, I guess it’s possible he gets traded, but if you were an NHL GM would you trade for him?
- 1970vintage

Ya his health is a major, major red flag. Much worse than edler or tanev. Not as sure this can happen with that contract.

well he's 4th-worst on the team in goals allowed per 60 mins at even strength

You trade for a guy like Collin Miller and one more Dman even an old guy like Engelland for a year or two and wait for Woo and draft more RHD then it is not horrible .

Don't forget a decent back up.
- manvanfan

Ya a full year of demko backing up should make a difference. He’s already been better than nilsson, that’s a good point.

I'd be down for Colin Miller if the price is reasonable.

Who are his wingers? I think Gudbrandson had terrible stats here too. Look at him now.

He’s alright for a fourth line center. He shouldn’t go against top lines. Good faceoff guy, pk guy. Letting him play mire than 11-12 minutes is the issue imo. Just poor deployment.

I think he's putting Codes through an extra workout at Cheer leading practice

Motte and Eriksson, but I mean isn't Beagle supposed to be a guy who can carry a 4th line though? If he can't and he's more of a Motte tier player then he was indeed overpaid.

A lot of talk and hope about Woo making a difference on this team.

Boy, I hope you all are correct but reality might dictate otherwise.

I agree, but the player you describe doesn't sound like a 3M+ player and I'm afraid to think what he'll look like as he gets older

Lol Boeser. So bad on the back check. A least he knows it and is trying to learn.

Hughes to me is the one really getting giant expectations placed on him, like at this point if he turned out to be a Tyson Barrie/Ryan Ellis player I think some people would be disappointed.

Trouba is up to 43 points. He was pushing for a big contract a few years ago, i dont think it’s possible for the jets to afford him this time around if he wants to max out. I really hope he is the number one target.

Easier to forgive when the guy actually produces goals/points and is only in his 2nd year coming off of a serious injury.

dude definitely needs to work on his back checking though, I think he's been getting a bit better at it lately.

You realize there's still some here who think we're making the playoffs right?
