Nice to see Bobo Carpenter earn an NHL deal. Solid four-year career at BU. Didn't have amazing numbers, but a good all-around player who has some skill and brings some energy. Even though BU has had a lot of star players in his time there, Carpenter was always noticeable in games

I wouldn't get your hopes up that he's going to be an offensive dynamo. Chances are he's just depth for Bridgeport. If he makes it at the NHL level it'll be in a PK/bottom-6 role. He's not going to be a scorer at this level.

It's a good signing though. College UFA's are literally free assets for your organization, I don't know why the Islanders never tried to utilize this before. Ok, well I do know. But I still don't understand.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure. But if he wasn't I'm sure someone will correct me in about 3.5 seconds

From what little video I saw of him, he's not exactly the fleetest of foot. Nor does it appear he has the softest of touch. I would agree with you that he's just a depth signing. Unless he somehow busts his ass and improves his game tremendously, of course.
Not sure how you don't understand it. Pretty easy for me to understand how. I don't think he had a clue that was an option. Probably thought he had to give up one of his prize picks, like Reinhart or Strome to do it.

Yeah I don’t expect Bobo to be a scorer in the NHL, but he if can be a good energy/PK guy that’s a good signing. It won’t show with the big club, but good AHL players are important too.

Kevin Czuczman I remember Snow saying there were about 10 teams looking to sign him

I think it's more to shore up Bridge than anything else. Bottom 6? Probably. But you have to have kids in the A due to the rules involving vets.

I think it will be a useful signing. No harm done if it does not work out.

He's still kicking around in the AHL. Heard his name called in one of the BPort games I watched earlier this year.

His emergence was what allowed us to be comfortable with trading Chris Campoli (man, we've suffered through some ridiculous narratives as Isles fans ).

Andrew Ladd has torn his ACL, according to Lou Lamoriello. He will he out for five months. Was injured on Sunday. #Isles.

For all the crap he took on these boards -- justifiably so and including from me -- we should acknowledge Pelech's turnaround. I'm probably going to jinx it now, but he's been downright reliable!

All it took was one tiny little torn acl to get him out of the line up. Finally.

Apparently it's the other knee, not the one he hurt earlier this year. Maybe we'll get lucky and he'll have to retire.
