I like that we locked in one of our hopeful future blue liners. I always get nervous with the whole commitment to a player in college who can keep playing and then test FA, especially when his stock continues to rise. I think we continue to see a trend with our D prospects being very offensively focused and powerful. To me, it's not a bad thing if you can have one of those prospects as a defensive minded player and then adding in a FA to help in the d-zone. We can see the power of a Karlsson, puck moving defenseman. And if you can pair him with a defensive minded D-man, I think you can have a few really dangerous lines. He still is a good deal away, imo, from being in the NHL. He could be the second or third group of guys making it to the show, or potentially make another prospect expendable.

I hope Mitchell and Barratt both sign this offseason.

Boqvist, Joker, Beaudin, Krys, and Mitchell create a "stacked" prospect pool. With Keith, Seabs, and Murphy in the fold, I see a prospect and Gus/Forsling being moved.

What's your thoughts?

Agree with the fact that the Hawks have plenty of D prospects. Not going to list them all, but in addition to the current roster, there are probably at least 10 in the OHL, AHL, college and Europe.

Some won't make it to the NHL, some will be trade bait, some will be 3rd pair guys. Hopefully a couple will be top pair, but time well tell.

Also would be great to pair a good puck mover with a good stay at home type.

Beaudin with a goal and assist half way through the 3rd. Drummondville rolling 6-3.

D prospects (in somewhat of order highest to lowest potential):

Jokiharju
Boqvist
Beaudin
Mitchell
Krys
Carlsson
Hillman
Gilbert
Galvas
Tuulola

Honorable mentions: Laavainen, Ess, Shea, Ryczek

Agree that it would be ideal to pair an offensive dynamo with a rock solid defender or at least pair up guys who can defend, skate, and move the puck equally well.

Not sure if the Hawks future blueline would ever be 100% comprised of home-grown talent but just an idea:

Beaudin - Jokiharju
Carlsson - Boqvist
Krys - Mitchell
Hillman

Seriously? If we are lucky two of these guys will amount to anything. If a lineup of this actually exists one day come to Pittsburgh, you can paint the town on my dime.

But we DO LOVE our prospects don't we? Sincerely, White Sox fan.

Yeah, don't think that would ever happen outside of a blueline lineup for the Traverse City tourney or Rockford games.

Sad...Konroyd just said that 75% of the arena is filled with Blackhawks fans. Isn’t this a pretty important game for the Coyotes?

He took a hard check that messed up his arm, he left his stick on the ice, and went to the bench bent over. He was out playing shortly after. My guess was a stinger.
