Interesting. Then yes, we should definitely expect regression.
- Rinosaur

Let’s just hope the regression hits at the beginning of next season and not in the playoffs.

At least I didn't say he has an AHL caliber shot

Dumo has an AHL caliber shot.

Changing teams doesn't change your shooting percentage from 8% to 20%
- Feds91Stammer

I think there's 3 empty netters inflating that % though...definitely 2...maybe 3.

It might be beer league. I am shocked and awed by how bad that shot is every time he takes it.

You can make his new shooting percent in the middle of those two then.

Gonna disagree with you there. If he shoots his career average he is at 5 goals and 9 points and nobody makes much of him.

In other words he is good but don't be surprised when the regression kicks in.

- Feds91Stammer

Yah, it will, but also he is playing a winger role now. Hes generating more shots and scoring chances than previously, for some reason less high danger though. But overall he has the skill set to be a 12% shooter and volume doesnt appear to be an issue of his. I'm very pleased with him

4 shots into an empty net during his shirt time here has probably done wonders for his shooting percentage.

I'll be happy if he's another Rust/Dupuis type player. Does seem to have a little better hands then those guys so maybe he is a 20 goal guy on his own. But he's at what a 35 goal pace? So yeah regression.

Another speedy 20 goal shooter who can generate chances on the PK? Oh woe is us.

Depends on how you wish to determine the average. Old team vs new. Or averaging all the years.

In my super unbiased view, I will average the old teams, of 8%, with the new team, at 20%. So he is now a 14% shooter.

Thank you.

Taking out his three ENGs, and the correlating three shots, Jared McCann has 8 goals on 54 shots as a penguin which is good for a 14.8% shooting percentage. That's a good bit higher than his 8% average and in elite territory (which he is not), but it's now no longer in the realm of laughable. If a standard regression hits, I can see 11% being a realistic settling point, which should allow him to be a 20 goal scorer.

For now though, hope he keeps sniping at that 15% pace.

EDIT: McCann actually has 4 ENGs, so that brings down his shooting percentage to 13.2%. That's still sniper territory, but you can see its not super unreasonable.

But how does that help Murray's AHL glove?
- Feds91Stammer

You could find at least 3-4 people here complaining about his glove side. They are just quiet now that we are getting the results. Come forward people lol

I just looked and his numbers are crazy inconsistent. He's got a year around 2.5% and another at just over 6% (both in Florida).

It just looks weird tbh. It’s like lacks strength to lift the puck and pick spots (please don’t mention his last top shelf goal)
