He’s never had linemates on the 4th line that are conducive to his pigeoniness. Blueger would be.
- Victoro311

He skates visibly slower and you can tell just does not play with the same poise as he does when he’s on the top lines. That has nothing to do with his linemates

ZAR will top out as a 4L dude. End of Story. Period. Done. Right the cheque.
- DeflatedPucks

Agreed. I think he's capable of playing further up in a pinch, but that's about it.

Just thought I’d stop by and mention how good the Pens are playing with all of these flip plays so good in fact that they continue to elude to it on the broadcast
- WSCTeton17

the broadcast also said that Jack Johnson provides steady defense so I'd take everything the broadcast says with a grain of salt.

That's how I feel about the whole group of ZAR, Blueger, and Simon. Unless they have a spot with good chemistry like Simon seems to have right now, I like them as 4th liners who move up with injury.

I don't think the sample on ZAR is large enough to say that for sure yet.

There's been plenty. The eye test is evident. He skates harder when he's up with Geno and has far more hustle.

Maybe he’s asked to be the hustle guy on the 2nd line and on the 4th he tries to drive to the net more and let Wilson be the hustle guy. Anyway he knows it’s easier to get points with Geno and Phil obviously.

Sara Civian had a great profile article on him where she interviewed all his past coaches. A pattern emerged that he was an incredibly hard worker who struggled initially at a new level. I'd say it's at least possible that's what happened along with he admitted he was playing too tentative because of the Wilson injury. A 20ish game eye test on the 4th line just isn't enough evidence to prove otherwise to me.

Impossible to move him. Don't think he's overrated as much as the 2012-2015 teams over achieved with 0 elite talent on the team. He carried those team that could not score a goal in game 7 against Tampa.

He has been pretty awful the past 2 years tho. Excited to see Igor get his shot in a few years.

I believe whenI one hundred percent agree with Ryan Wilson’s D pairing scenarios it’s pretty much solid fact Johnson sucks.

You've just had a strong hate for the guy for a long time hahaha

I don't think he skates harder or anything I just think you're seeing alot more of him when he's with Geno, as opposed to when he's on 4th line.

Not ready to pigeon hole Blueger into a fourth liner yet. He has impressed me. Now that I think about it I seem to remember him getting some LW time with Cullen when he first came up. Obviously it is too late in the year to experiment with him but next year is a different story.

Johnson is only 24 and he looks like he is deserving of a long look next season also.

Yeah Blueger got forced into wing but is mostly a better center. I think he'll be Cullen's replacement.

Maybe he or one of the others holds that last top nine spot, but could see the Pens upgrading at forward for one of their defensemen. If ZAR-Blueger-Simon was a fourth line of guys who can move up with injuries the team would be in a really nice place.

I must say I really enjoy watching Bjugs in the O-zone. Even though he's usually working really hard he still has this smooth calm relaxed style about him that stands out to me. He also makes smart little plays. He can have heavy pressure on him but he doesnt look phased. His reach and size is definitely a factor.

Looked at two playoff probability sites this morning one had the Pens at 100% and the other 99.9%.

Both the Habs and Jackets are at around 50/50. Crazy.

Makes sense. They’re only competing against each other and have the same record

Even though the Jackets have a better chance to take a small chunk out of Tampa, I still want them to miss.

I'd much rather Habs in than the Jackets. Obviously not a fan of a metro rival, and even though there arnt any players that I dislike on them, I really dont like Torts. Also, I like when my family's and friend's favorite teams are in the playoffs and the Habs are that for quite a few I know.

I hate the Jackets and hate Torts, but I think the Jackets have more talent than the Habs and have a better chance at upsetting TB so I’d prefer them to get in. Don’t care all that much because neither team should make it past 5 games in the first round.
