He's the only reason we're winning. It's frustrating.

I'd be ok with that. Doubt he's there at 8 though.

Saw him play in Kelowna about a month ago and he was unreal. Would be happy with him for sure.

Crazy that Buff will probably pick in top 10 again. Sad team.

Ya i feel sorry for them...... 3 1st's in this draft, Dahlin, and Eich...... They are gonna be a stud once the cap bursts Tor and Tpb's cap crunch.

I am a fan of our young D and goalie duo going forward. It is unfortunate they are playing great hockey at this point in the season however. What do you think Butcher will sign for? A bridge? Or something like 6 years at 4.5M per?

This year has taken a little of the shine off Butcher, so good for Devils. Sign him long term at a relatively cheap price.

Disappointed in the win. I do have to point out two positives for the future though. Ya gotta love what we've been seeing from Zacha since his return. Also, Schneider and Blackwood should be an awesome tandem next season.

Remember when people wanted us to trade him and make KK the starter? LOL.

I mean I like KK and wish him well but he was one of the streakiest goalies I've ever seen. Mostly it's been a poop streak this year, but the kid had his moments.

I sure do remember lol. The biggest factor in trading Cory would have to be his salary of 6 mill a year for three more seasons. Although since ownership and Ray does not appear to be too eager to spend up some cap space, I guess paying 6 mill per is irrelevant at this point.

Could be a deal like Severson.

Butch has played like poop this season. I hope its a sophomore slump and not indicative. I don't notice him like I did last year. Smith should fix lots of issues next season.

Dahlin is quietly having a great year. He'll be a stud for sure.

Butcher hasn't been bad this season. It doesn't matter how many times you say it but it's untrue. He is having a worse season than last year, but everybody is because the team is bad and Hall isn't inflating everybody's numbers.

His offensive zone start percentage has decreased from 62.4 to 54.8 which is a big change meaning he's being used in more defensive situations. This is a good reason why his even strength corsi has dipped from 53.9 to 50.3. But it's not like he's getting caved in, he's just neutral. His average ice time this year has also increased 3 minutes per game from the last. This is clearly the sign of a player having an expanded role and learning to improve.

Even if you go by raw counting numbers he had 39a last year and has 25a this year on a team that once again is significantly worse offense and with no Hall. I just don't really get this idea that Butcher has just been poop this season because he hasn't been appreciably worse than the other defensemen on the team. Yeah, he has bad games but it's not like his overall body of work is disastrous.
