Dermott is a top 4 in my eyes.
- Santo_44

I agree, i think we miss him more than Gards.

Looking good lately against bottom feeders, hopefully they ride that into the playoffs and we need both Gardiner and Dermott to be healthy and ready.
- Garnie

Yup, health is most important right now

Don't really miss Gardiner too much.

I'm much less jumpy when Dermott is on the ice.

Muzzin-Rosen
Dermott-Zaitsev

If they can figure out a top 4 that works of Muzzin, Rielly, Gardiner and Dermott..you play the poop out of them and leave NZ/whoever with mayen 10 mins a game

yes i left out Hainsey

Gards may have played his last game as a leaf. Time will tell.

You know Hainsey's not going anywhere the rest of the year.

Not saying he won't be 5/6 but your NZ/whoever statement is funny.

Overall, I think Gardiner is better... But, between Dermott and Gardiner, which one makes you less nervous?

Hainsey can play with Zaitsev on the bottom pairing.

I know, but he's here...so I cheer for the (frank)er. He is good positionally...doesn't get caught for odd man rushes too often. ( which is a true killer )

I don't think he gets resigned ( if Dubas doesn't like Babs usage of him )

Risto might be the most overrated dman since Myers.

I wonder how much Myers is going to get in free agency this year.

You might be a bit jumpy but it’s better than facepalming every time Z knocks it off the glass when there is zero pressure around him.

He’s fine as a number 6 guy.

Gardiner-Rielly
Muzzin-Dermott
Hainsey-Zaitzev

I’d love to see this. Gardiner/Rielly is the best possible pairing we could out out against Bergeron.

Muzzin/Dermott is a fantastic 2nd pairing.

And the third pairing is average but it gets it done.

I think the point here is Gards/Rielly could not only shut down Bergeron but could keep the puck out of the Leafs end. Which has been a struggle against that line the last few matchups.

If I was Babcock I would make Gardiner be as far away from Bergeron as possible at all times. Like, I'd make him sit all the way on the goal side of the bench just in case Bergeron makes him slip up somehow while he's sitting.
