And yet, not a contender. Absolutely no chance whatsoever in the first round. A guy was telling me.

His name was probably Connor or Clancy or Declan, and he had just come up from Southie after playing some Keno and drinking a few PBR.... |

Also, this is the time of year where everyone picks the top 2 seeds in each conference to play in the conference finals, which never happens.
16 good teams have a shot, the talent gap between each team is just not that big. We all know the weird bounce triple overtime winner, or the goalie putting up a 48 save shutout, will determine who advances. - BestRapperAlive
I always look for reasons for an upset.
To me teams like TB are playing with a lot of pressure. And it’s showed in the past few years for them.
CBJ is a team to be that could upset a team or two in the playoffs. I just hope it’s not the Leafs in the 2nd round |

And then just as it's getting good, MiB inevitably pops up to tell us that he's finished copying and pasting everything from TSN/Twitter... |

Depending on what Kap and Johnsson get.. Or, if Zaitsev can't be moved. We may have to look at moving Kadri.. We all know that Marleau is staying next year too. I mean he doesn't really scare anyone anymore.. Also, we are not in a position to spend over $4M on a 40 point, 3rd line C - PatC80
I just read on the Athletic that Marleau needs 1 more season after next to surpass Gordie to be the all-time regular season games played leader.

I wonder what will come out the most when people talk about Marleau in the future.
How he was a good player for so long in the NHL?
How he managed to be good AND healthy for so long in the NHL?
or
How long he played without winning anything? |

Marleau is staying, I don't see him not. Kadri with a year left could be a HUGE trade chip there, and I think him and Z moving both opens up roughly what 9 mil in cap space? Gards is gone, we all know that.... The real question there is sure ok so we keep Kap and Johnsson that way, need to replace Z and if we move Nylander to line 3 center, who then do we replace him on the wings?!
Honestly I think the big thing I do like and everyone loses their minds without considering is the flexibility on moving guys we do actually have to keep the core group at this point, and without the drastic measure of moving Nylander.
It is going to be a very interesting offseason and thinking a few moves are definitly going to be made and happen, and can see the team just keep on building up.

Thing is how many very good to great players played their whole careers without winning anything?! That happens sometimes, perhaps a lot more back in say the 80's when you saw top end players stay with one team for a whole lot longer than now. |

Yeah, assuming he plays all 82 games with us next season, he'll only need 23 games to break the record.
He'll be a Leaf next year. |

It was implied. I confess.
I have yet to make an official prediction for the Bruins/Leafs series though. |

Yeah but being the player who played the most games.
And you never won anything.
I hope that's not the case, because I do believe the impressive part of his career is staying healthy while being so good for so long..... but it will be brought up.
Unless of course he wins something this year or the next. |
