If I was Babcock I would make Gardiner be as far away from Bergeron as possible at all times. Like, I'd make him sit all the way on the goal side of the bench just in case Bergeron makes him slip up somehow while he's sitting.

He makes the odd mistake but it’s the way he plays.

He makes a play when he gets the puck out. Sometimes it doesn’t work but it beats the hell out of knocking it off the glass.

There could be a 5 minute montage from this year where Z knocks it off the glass into the other teams possession, only to lead
to a goal within a minute. You don’t notice it as much but it’s just such a brutal play when there is a play to be made.

I don't really blame them for making the move though. If they sold off what does that say to the fan base that hasn't even seen a playoff series victory? They were in a really tough spot and still are obviously.

don't get me wrong, both Holl and Oz do some dumb stuff... but marincin is a trainwreck... he goes behind the net regularly gets caught, ALWAYS goes the wrong way... and his d-partner gets hung out to dry. Every single game.

I do respect Kekelainen for the humongous balls of steel it took to make such a play.

The "safe" bet was to sell everything for picks and prospects. It was the easy thing to do really....

He decided to go all-in with Panarin/Bobrovsky because getting guys like that back might take years.

So yeah, it might get him fired.... which would be too bad because he's done a great job in Columbus imo.

I don’t care that Bob has had some rough playoff years. He’s a top 3 goalie and is heading into UFA. He’s going to be lights out.

The team was thrown together like 10 games ago. They need some time...they have been a top team in the east the last few years but have gotten screwed with playoff matchups. Duchene and Dzingel add to a great team that has struggled this season.

They will be fine come playoff time. The regular season can be overrated sometimes.

This year they go for a deep run I think.

Either of Calgary or SJ could make it if get red hot goaltending. Smith not likely. SJ is interesting. VGK MAF could be the ticket to the finals too.
