Hawks are smaller than most teams. It's amazing when at the game watching warmups how much bigger some teams are than the blackhawks. Goodman does a good job, but it takes buy in from the athlete as well. A bit of mean streak in the player wouldn't hurt either. - 6628
TB is one of, if not, the smallest team in the league. |

Ya my mistake. He's awesome when he spins in a circle in the corner and loses the puck or falls down. Or when he can't complete a simple pass. Or when he's too slow to actually throw a hit that does something. Yup he's worth keeping alright. - GPHawksfan
Whatever, man. Agree to disagree. |

Reports out there that Kubalik expected to sign with the Hawks after the World Championships in May (ends on the 26th) and Bowman also expects him to play in the NHL next season. |
|
|

To be fair - Dahlstrom is still in the infancy of his NHL career. I can never remember what the magic number is that is the supposed minimum number of games needed to be played at the NHL level before most d-men settle in and hit their stride - but it's a lot higher that 46 which is the number of NHL games Dahlstrom has played. He played 11 games last season and 35 so far this season. Whether or not he becomes a consistently good NHL d-man is yet to be determined, but he should get more consistent, if not better, over the next couple years.
You can't teach size and he's 6'4" / 230lbs - plus he's LD that can play RD. If I were to judge him on the games he's played this season I would probably have to give thumbs down - but now that he has been re-signed I hope he makes the improvements so many d-men make with 150-200 games in the NHL. |

Did you get that info from Power's article in TheAthletic or somewhere else? Power's quoted Stan saying he expected to sign him but I don't recall anything about it being after the World Championships end in May.

To interrupt the chicken/egg thing.... Seems some young guys have received a legit shot. Why hasn't Hayden? - mohel
May as well begin a new narrative, Colliton hates young guys. |

Combination of the Athletic and Second City Hockey. SCH pulled from Powers' article. |

Maybe TB doesn't have to fight for as many pucks as the hawks because they are a whole bunch faster, kinda like the hawks used to be. |

Usually it's 300, the one I've most often heard anyway. In which case, I say it's probably still too early to send Forsling to the glue factory. He's 22 and played about 120 games. |

I don't get the Duchene love. He has done nothing but be a major part of a bunch of losing teams. he is yet another guy who is on the ice for more SAT against than SAT for. There is no way I want the Hawks to be paying him 7+M. Not to mention you would signing him to play most of his deal in his 30's. He just isn't that good. Also, he has his best seasons on the wing. FOs aren't that important to me as something I would use to sign a guy.
I like Trouba. You would be not only giving up assets plus probably paying 8M/AAV. He has had injury issues his whole career. He really doesn't produce points. About the same rate as Murphy. My issue with Trouba is this..is he really worth paying twice as much as Murphy for what he brings? IDK about that. The 1st would be okay. Its the plus I don't think the Hawks should be parting with at this point. - Elbows15
Completely untrue. Trouba 402 games played, 173 points total. Murphy has played 380 games and has a grand total of 75 points. Trouba has over double the points in only 20 more games played. And is way better on defense he'd definitely help the hawks blueline

Yikes - 300! At that point T&K will be collecting social security by the time our shiny new d-prospects are ready to rumble.

That what I was getting at saad if traded who replaces him perlini no he is a 3rd line player and I agree I would take saad over Perlini. - Scott1977
It was hard to tell, since you didn't use any punctuation.
ETA: as I read this post, I am coming off as a Richard. That is not my intent. Just pointing out that while I often agree with your posts, they can be very hard to follow. |

I think we may have seen the blueprint for how Stan is going to handle this summer with the Strome/Perlini and Caggiula trade. Even the Koekkoek trade. High pick draftees that are either blocked or need a change of scenery. I don't know who those players are on every team, but I'm sure there are more. Maybe one big trade and the rest like the previous ones. - CanOCorn
If this is true then I bet Jesse Puljujari might be a blackhawk :D |

The future defense IF with some of these touted prospects won't have to fight for as many pucks IF it is especially fast snart talented

Yep, and if so, he shouldn't be "gutting it out" or playing through an injury given their now meaningless remaning games. Sit him down, and don't play him until he's healthy. No speed or explosion in his skating, even his hands/puck skills look off. - EnzoD
Nah..sit it out like a country club north sider. That is the message to send to your team and organization.
He plays because he can and wants to. That is what all players should do and what used to be expected of men.
