That Brian Burns guy sounds like a beast. He should be long gone by 9 though. |

Drafting wins cups. The ROR trade is really the only trade you can say “what the frank” were you thinking. Not having ROR this year is going to allow us to pick top 7 by the looks of it. The top 7 pick makes us better long term then ROR does. Thompson needs to add 20 pounds and work with a shooting coach. It’s sad people are anointing a trade after one season but it is what it is. We are better long term with a top 7 pick then ROR. Hopefully Thompson, the Blues first rounder (whether it ultimately is Montour or we draft with it), and the 2nd rounder in 2021 can be contributors or be used to bring in contributors for long term. - Pegullaville
But if you’re talking about the ROR trade in terms of evaluating Botts...
then u can’t use picking top7 this year as a point in his favor
Because there’s absolutely no way that Botts was thinking by trading ROR,
we’d get a Top10 pick
That happened bc of Botts failure of a plan for this season
It didn’t happen by design |

Burns will still be there at 9 most likely
Especially if a couple QBs get picked |

This is assuming it was Botts decision to trade ROR.
I don’t think it was 100% his choice.
O’Reilly wanted out and apparently according to Homie and others the Pegula’s did too |

Sure
But either way, what I’m saying is that Botts wasn’t making moves to try & pick in the Top10 this year
So it’s not really fair to give him credit for that |

We'll we find out this year if Beane is a real GM... that the plus side.. and I do like the moves for the most part. He's got no place to hide if tall these guy fall flat on their face. if their are more winners then losers we should at least be fun to watch again. Allen improving (or Not) will tell us where we are by years end.
Beane does seem to draft really well, unlike the bozos running the sabres. - gordong
Well,
It does take a few years to find out what you really have from an NHL Draft. The looks of the last two years under Botterill, of course Dahlin was a no brainer.
Hopefully a couple of Samuelson, Pekar, Davidsson, 6K, Laaksonen, Bryson pan out for them.
Prior to that, if Nylander doesn't flame out and Olofsson shows something along with Borgen and Asplund...that would be great
Still way too early to tell.
Too bad the NHL doesn't pick at age 21 rather than 17/18 like the NFL...think that might have something to do with it.
I do for sure. |

With that nice batch of D-men last year, I hope JB grabs some forwards with his first few picks. We seem a little thin there. |

Rochester isn't even leading their division, let alone the league. |
