I'm not worried about what he has to say
What he said though is completely true - Stripes77
Is it, though?
We're a one newspaper town. We're a one sports talk radio town.
What does he expect, rainbows and unicorns? Can you imagine if any one of us (the posters on this site) were news reporters? Good God, we'd be out of a job.
I think Robin is enjoying a great season and his team is winning and he's reaping the good-vibe reporting that's going on there, in the biggest market in the States. It's all very relative to the current situation he was in and is currently in, obviously.
I want a goalie who can handle the heat. He ain't it. (and trust me when I say, I stuck up for the trade Murray made to get him, and stuck up for him when he sucked here, so I had no problem with him, as I knew he was a good goalie).

He's right though
Our building sucks to play in for the home team
Our media when he was here sucked (the New currently sucks but the Athletic is great), look at the beef with Graham and Harrington since Graham left the Buffalo News.
There is nothing he said that was wrong. - Stripes77
But my point is, why is he reading the ONLY newspaper this city has?
I’m talking about Mittelstadt. If you want to continue to talk O’Reilly I’m sure there’s a tree outside who will listen - sbroads24
Ok...
did we get NEARLY ENOUGH scoring from Line2 or 3 this year?
No, we absolutely did not
So great...
Compare this year to other years where we didn’t get enough scoring either
That doesn’t make it better
It’s a horrible “defense”
Mitts (and MANY others) disappointed this year
It’s pretty plain and simple,
no matter how u try to disguise it by taking a shot at a guy u hate on constantly
Congrats

What building doesn’t suck when you’ve been this bad for this long?
He’s really mad at the fans & media for not being happy with their sh!tty play?
I’ll send him a participation trophy
Seriously...
did he expect us to cheer & support all the losing?
At least we were there
Most buildings would be empty

It's VERY easy to just ignore it. - Powerslave
The building is a morgue and sucks to play in as a home town team. Yes their play sucked but even earlier this year when they were good the building was so so during games.
It's easy for us to ignore it (we aren't the ones getting written about or talked about), not so sure about the athletes that get written about daily

Be consistently good and exciting, and it's not a problem. Lehner was caught in a depression and alcoholism spiral. I'm sure he felt like the whole world was caving in on him. It also seems clear that he accepts no responsibility for his role. I wish he would shut up and move on

He's enjoying a winning season for the Islanders.
He thinks OUR building is bad when we lose? He should check out THEIR building. One of the worst atmospheres in the league, barely half full.

Besides his exaggeration that we’d boo the team before the game even started...
They were bad, REALLY BAD
Yet we STILL SHOWED UP in an attempt to support the team,
when most other buildings would be EMPTY
And he’s surprised/upset that we would get upset when they didn’t play well?
Did he think we’d just cheer all the losing?
Good grief
Even though I don't like him (TBH I really never did, think he is overrated and used wrong) I still think he has value... I don't want to send him out of town for pennies on the dollar...

Agreed.
There will be GMs interested. I just hope it's for an actual (frank)ing player, and not futures.

Um, we DID cheer for them to LOSE....Don't you remember cheering for the other team when they scored b/c I sure as heck do. And Tickets were like free or $6.00, Hell the homeless could of afforded to get into the warm building for a few hours at those prices...That is why we had ppl still in the building..
It would be one thing if he was actually right about ROR
But he just keeps hatin’
It’s a message board
When i see something i don’t agree with,
i respond - jdfitz77
Oh I know, we all know, just let it go for (frank) sake... after 1000000 times what makes you think it different after 1000001? Let it go man...it gets old

We cheered for the tank when we were going for Eichel
Yes, that was embarrassing
Lehner came here AFTER that
We were all ready for the team to win
We thought the team was on the way up
Then they CONTINUED to played like crap
So yeah... the fan base wasn’t happy Were we supposed to be???
But we didn’t boo before the games started
That’s a crock
And yeah, we all wanted to get the best chance at Dahlin
But we were in that spot bc the team
(and big part of that was Lehner)
was so terrible still

Is there a reason this is solely directed at me,
and not the guy who keeps bashing ROR?
If he wanted to defend Mitts,
all he had to say was that he was a rookie who will get better
No need to bring ROR into
Especially when it’s a dumb argument to try & defend the lack of scoring this year bc we had a lack of scoring the year before as well
Um... we all knew that
Doesn’t make the disappointing play of Mitts (and MANY others) this season better
It’s still disappointing

I agree we never booed before the game, but it sure as hell did not take long after the start most nights.... I give thanks to Lehner really, he may be the sole reason why we have Dahlin right now. I am also glad to see that he is mentally healthy and not Dependent on anything....
