I still think Hughes goes first, however Kakko is making it very interesting. Hughes is an abundance of speed and skill. Kakko is a dominant player in his own right. Can’t go wrong with either player.

He goes down and dominates AHL but is not good enough for the NHL.

First it was bylsmas fault now it’s Housley’s fault. Next year it will be the new coaches fault.

When do we start looking at the best players on this team and asking if they’re good enough

The bottom line is the above (Bylsma, Housley, Murray etc) are 5x the problem then an above ppg player.

McDavid will always be unstoppable.

Matthews had a stretch of 1 goal in 14 games this year.

He had 2 other superstars pick up the slack

So do I. This team sucks too to bottom.

But teams try to shut down Kucherov, Tavares,Matthews,Stamkos,McDavid,Draisitil, Mackinnon, Elias Peterson, Rantenen, and cant.

I need Eichel to get to that level.

Eichel has been coasting for the better part of a month and still has 77 points in 74 games. A few of those games you could even tell he was labouring from his injury and probably came back to early. Our biggest issue is depth. Skinner and Reinhart should be the 4th and 5th most impactful forwards on our team not our 2nd and 3rd. Erod as is stands is our 4th best forward and he realistically should be our 10th best forward. Goaltending sucks. Dahlin will be the McDavid of defenseman if he isn’t already and he will be a delight to watch for a long time.

as a fan base we deserve better then what is being given to us. Every year tank or not we support the team like it is a playoff team. Very seldom does the arena not have 15K fans, even on a random Tuesday night.

I swear i wish every single ticket holder of the last home game just did not show up and we had like 3K fans in the arena.. maybe then it would send a message but prob not.

yes and he is also the BEST player on the team by a mile... We are placing blame on a player who IMO is not the problem.

A little more development, coupled with some turnover on D will do this team wonders. Competence down the middle and bottom 2 lines will add to that. And, coaches that can actually coach the players to fulfill the requirements of their system is a must. This is a perimeter team that can't defend.

I guess I get where a lot of them are coming from but to place heavy blame on Jack is crazy IMO. He has career highs in Goals, Assists and points all the while playing on a poop bag of a team. Sure can he be better, Maybe be a better leader.. sure but jack is not Mcdavid he is not a take over the game player. He is a VERY good boarder line great player that has a high ceiling if you can get a more balanced scoring team where they just can't key on his line....

nobody said that Jack should not shoulder some blame.... But IMO he is not the problem... Eichel, Skinner, Sam & Dahlin are the only real talent we have on this team.

not a single person in the entire organization gets a pass for this cesspool. But of course more are to blame than others.

One person can say, here's everyone and here's how every person contributes to the problem.

Others can say, our biggest problems are A, B and C. Jack doesn't fit into this list. It's fair to put him in the former, though.

Last Stanley Cup champion had an 87 point player as their leading scorer.

The two previous Stanley Cup champs only had one 80+ point scorer each year, too.

Edm has TWO 100+ point scorers and they're atrocious.

Saku Koivu's Canadiens sucked many times. Does that make him a bad captain? Or more likely, does a captain have little to do with overall team success?
