That's what people really fail to see. They are impressed by his 77 points in 74 games but fail to see the 29 other players who have scored 77 points or more all in front of him on that list. They make excuses for his attitude, his Derek Roy season.

I'm not being too easy on him and people think I mean him and Derek Roy are equal. Of the top-30 scorers, 1/3rd of them are on non-playoff teams. He is having a good season. But it is simply NOT impressive. Barkov, Huberdeau have no one behind them and they will both be over 90 points. Sebastian (frank)ing Aho has more points than him. Two of the top-5 scorers are on EDMONTON. Brad god damn Marchand is going to eclipse 100 points.

I don't care about the playoffs at this point, or the 10-game win streak or our record since the New Year. I care about Eichel's performance in 2019 and it simply is NOT impressive. He plays with no passion or heart. He can't lead Toucan Sam to a bowl of Fruit Loops, seriously.

"It's my team so go fvck yourself" followed by "Phil" choking him out has got to be the highlight of this or last seasons combined.

- BeadyEyedDouche

A lot of behind the scenes with Eichel that people don't know, he should acknowledge fans more is one and he does not do that, no matter win or lose. He just needs to listen, he 's to much of a know it all, ROR tried to help him and it got him traded, lucky him.

Derek Roy could never do what eichel just did last shift.

Could of easily been a holding call on that play.

I think Skinner is a great complimentary player and would like to keep him but it isn’t the world if we lose him. The islanders lost Tavares and managed to make the playoffs for the first time in 3 years. Overall depth, goaltending, good coaching makes good teams.
- Pegullaville

Don’t you think bringing Skinner in as a rental hurt our draft slot? And it deprived a younger player of a development opportunity?
You also mentioned the Islanders making the playoffs. Unless they win the Cup, isn’t making the playoffs the worst possible season you can have?

Not sure about why you are comparing Eichel to Roy but that was an unbelievable effort on that shift.

Except there wasn't and he threw the puck into 4 guys feet instead of shooting the damn thing.

Did I miss the part where he scored?

Because I said he is having a Derek Roy type of season and that he is playing only a step above Derek whipping boy Roy and people took it and ran with it.

Last I checked though, Derek Roy's career high in a season is still above Eichel's at this point. Yet people find his season this year to be "impressive".

It isn't.

Look at the replay. He threw it to 2 Sabre’s in the slot. And there absolutely should have been a call on that play.

Botterill had no business using #37 as our 2nd line center, that is all on him. He isn't ready for that.

He wasn't even ready for the NHL at all, imo. Should have spent a year in Rochester.

So if you say he is having a Derek Roy season that is not comparing to Derek Roy? I’m confused but it really don’t take much
