I can't see the Oilers trading RNH for Risto. Like Buffalo, Edmonton needs more scoring. McDavid, Draisatl and RNH have scored like 50% of the team's goals, making them even more dependent on their big three than the Sabres are on Eichel, Skinner and Reinhart.

Sign me up though if Florida is willing to mover Huberdeau for Risto.

And let's be honest. Skinner could say literally anything and someone would feel sour about it. He could say "The Sabres are (frank)ing awesome and I love it here" and someone would bash him for sounding sarcastic and he actually hates it.

The tone of the Kane 'negotiations', which were anything but that, was much more dreary. Neither party made the slightest hint they were trying to re-sign him. Botts knows the significance of the player, and the player likes being here and waived to be here.

Don't make a big deal out of it until it becomes a big deal.
