I sort of agree, but I think there's enough history out there to tell you exactly who he is. A goal scoring, 55-60 point player. He's extremely valuable to this team, even with his slump. I think I might agree in the way that even with Eichel, he's reaching the height of his abilities, and signed over a long term deal, maybe he hits 70 points, but I think Botts and Skinner's agent say well he has potential is indeed 70 points. With the goal drought, maybe at first they were thinking 80, but now bring expectations back to 70

Reports surfacing over last week that #Sabres F Jeff Skinner will likely hit free agency. Also, one goal in his last 22 games when his team needed him to score most to stay alive in playoff race. Remember when I said he was “overrated”? What do I know though? 😏

Skinner would be absolutely foolish to not at least see what other teams are offering when FA hits. You only get one maybe two times to cash in big on Free Agency. He may want to stay here but I fear that we will get outbid in the process or have to grossly overpay to keep him. that will be a mistake IMO.

if skinner signs for over 8 and it's 7 or 8 years, botts went in panic mode

I agree...I think 7-8 is a little high, but for that short term, youre going to have to boost the salary a little I guess.

I don't agree with Ripped on some things but the love for Risto around here is crazy... Serious question, what are we really losing if we trade away Risto. he plays 22-25 Mins a night, makes horrible decisions with the puck, only plays physical when he wants to and oh yeah he is a -43. By far the worst in the league... I will admit he will get you 40 pts from the blue line that nothing to dismiss, but I think Montour will replace those points next year.
