It's interesting that they share similar paths. I really hope he elevates his play like Kravtsov. He was such a big riser in the draft. I'm just not comfortable with the average hockey IQ and vision. Maybe I'm just jaded by the Sabres employing a bunch of hockey-morons.

I'm not really a proponent of "The Russian Factor" in the first round. I think it may exist in the middle rounds, but not up top. I personally feel it's his mental abilities that should stop him from being a top 5 pick. Not that he's Russian.

However, it would be nice to develop him in the AHL. But if he comes to the NHL looking like Panarin, then that's something quite special, and no one will give a poop that he hung out in Ruskie for 2 years.

Trick question. There have been 2 top 10 talents that fell due to the Russian Factor however (Kuznetsov 26th and Tarasenko 18th) as well Nichushkin went back to the KHL (9th overall pick) for a couple of years.

We need to move out a dman. Hopefully that one is a negative impact guy. Use Risto to get yourself an impact forward for the middle 6. Use Scandella to get a positive impact bottom 6, whether he be an offensive 3rd liner or shutdown 4th liner. Sign Erik (frank)ing Karlsson. Or Jake Gardiner. Or Jordie Benn.
