It's sad seeing Phil in a Hawk jersey again...what could have been. The Hawks would likely have at least two more Cups. |

This past off-season there were 2 players I was hoping the Hawks would target. Ryan O'Reilly and Robin Lehner. O'Reilly went to the Blues and Lehner went to the Isles. Both are in the playoffs.
I know hindsight is 20/20 but if the Hawks make those 2 moves instead of the 3 has beens they signed and knowing what we know now about this team, do you think they would have at least made the playoffs this year? I think they would have made enough difference to get them to about 90 points. Not a cup contender but at least a playoff team. - blackhawks30
Was a O'Reilly a UFA or acquired via trade? I forget. |

Possibly but not at the term and cap hit they were looking for. I believe the plan all along was to rebuild/retool this team this year and keeping an eye to this off season to complete the make over. Moving forward this team has alot more positives this year as opposed to this time last year. It's very encouraging and the outlook is very positive. Some good trades by Stan in season and possibly spending the money in free agency or via trade to shore up the defense and this team should be able to make the playoffs next year. Possibly making some noise! |

Is anyone else hearing the name Dahlquist being thrown about quite alot? I'm guessing it is Dahlstrom out there and we haven't signed another Euro FA that nobody knows about |

Wow both teams won the gift of terrible announcers for their last match up this season. Would rather not have this a national game |

O'Reilly was a trade. Blues sent Berglund(no longer in the league) Sobotka(shouldn't be in the league) Thompson, a 1st in 19 and a 2nd in 21 |

Yeh, and Q was an assistant coach. Amazing they won gold with Seabs and Q dragging the rest of the team down. - scottak

Well that won't happen, why would Seabs leave almost $12 mil. on the table, if he can't play he goes on LTIR, he gets his money, and the Hawks don't get a cap hit. - LAHawk
The only unknown is, what if his wife says "You are done, I want you home"? Sometimes the husband has no say in a marriage.

Yes thanks for posting that. I didn't clarify when I meant target but yes trade for O'Reilly and sign Lehner. I just think the way they play the game would have fit a need. Lehner was a wild card because of his personal struggles but he's always been a battler in net and reminds me a lot of Crawford in that regard. |

Not sure about that one. Unless he had Ken Hodge and Freddie Stanfield with him too. A guy that wore #4 for the Bruins also might have helped a little too.

C'mon Powerenforcer, Do you really think Bettman will allow the Hawks to get away with that? |

NBCSN showed close up head and shoulders pics of Toews and Kane during the intermission. A thought occurred to me, the Hawks have not been in the playoffs since they began wearing those sweaters with the funky white collar. |

Would the word inauspicious be properly used to describe Gilbert's 1st few shifts in the NHL? He took a penalty, whiffed on a shot and fell over. No where to go but up I guess. |

Keith made the correct play, two on one is the defenseman's responsibility to prevent the pass. |

There's one.....and Duncan Keith shows exactly how to not play that 2 on 1 by giving Tarasenko wayyyyyyy too much room. Obviously Keith wouldn't want to do the Seabrook lay down in a nothing game.

Kane was nearby. You always want Tarasanko to pass. |
