It is. Get some sides of sweet and hot peppers and you're set. Love their Maxwell St's too.

Never had Rosati's for chicken. There's a place up here people like called Chicken Shack. It was ok...still like KFC Original Recipe better. Don't eat it often (like once every couple years) but like it when I do.

Ahhh - Polish from Jewtown (as the natives say). Used to be pretty good - Jim’s - before UIC took over and gentrified all of it.

Best bets are the Polish delis on the northwest side - Kurowski, Stan’s, others. Maxwell Street Depot on 31st is pretty good.

Not a KFC fan at all. Of all the franchise fried chicken places I prefer Popeyes. We had some hot fried chicken in Nashville from a place called Moore's last summer, it was the best fried chicken I have ever had.

KFC - love their “secret spice” and stuff, but the chicken often tastes old and stale to me. Popeyes is all batter, overpowers the chicken, and taste greasy.

Honey Butter on Elston, and Parson’s on Atmitage are very good. The Roost Carolina Chicken on Irving Park does a nice fried chicken sandwich.

Best fried chicken ever - Fannie’s in Evanston - also great spaghetti meat sauce there - unfortunately, Fannie Lazaar (owner and founder) died, and the place closed 30+ years ago. My most-missed restaurant in the area - went there often with my parents, and then with our young children. Ahhh - memories.

As long as we're still talking eateries and we're up in that neck of the woods - I'm switching to the breakfast menu and will give a big thumbs up to Walker Bros Pancake House. Their Cinnamon Apple pancakes are heavenly and the bacon, OJ and coffee are pretty good too. We used to go to the one on Waukegan Rd. in Glenview but there were other locations like one on Green Bay Rd. in Wilmette. Apparently the brothers had a falling out and Richard opened Richard Walkers Pancake House on Roselle Rd. in Schaumburg which I get to probably once or twice a year. Same menu so all good.

LOL! You think you're actually getting the original "Original Recipe" north of the border?

Afraid not mon frères. It's like the Dutch only send us their skunky Heineken. Try one in Holland. It's a completely different beer.

And don't give me the "I got my KFC in the US". They spotted you a mile away there Dudley Do Right!

Never had Fannie's but there was a place on Chicago that was great in general, but Monday nights their special was a fried chicken dinner. West Town Tavern.

That was my fave so far. I know they closed down a few years back which was a shame.

My mom grew up in Tennessee through most of her teen years before coming to Illinois. She met the original Colonel on an airplane. She called him (not to his face) the world's biggest bumhole.

I want to meet the George Costanza or Norm MacDonald Colonel.

I like Popeye's too, though the spicy ends up making me regret it later. Love their red beans and rice.

You know when this game turned? In the 1st period when Bolig talked major $hit to Williams after the Hawks had just scored. The Hawks were all over them and just like that......poof.

Had the joy of driving home and listening to Jay Zawaski blame Kris Versteeg for the loss. Hilarious.

Where our seats used to be I could see that puck fluttering right in.....ugh. To this day I refuse to watch any highlights from that game.

- SteveRain

I'm sure bollig was the only player to talk poop during the game. To blame it on him is bullpoop

Their is one up here less than a mile from my place that it is somehow tied to the Original Walker Bros Pancake House. Like you said, same menu so all good. Awesome thick cut bacon and I don't eat pancakes often, but if I do, I want theirs.

Jason Alexander or Norm MacDonald are funny enough on their own, I'd just like to meet them.

I go for the spicy too, red beans and rice make me regret them. I like their biscuits a lot. I try to get shrimp from there on Fridays for lent.

First time I ordered the chicken I went with the recco of 2 pieces per person since I had a ton of other food. They went through it like Sherman through the South. By the time I sat down to eat, it was nothing but a memory. Upped it to 3 pieces the next time and that was barely enough. Buncha animals.

I've only ever had pizza from Rosati's. Canadian bacon on top was really good.

Kumas for a burger.

Fried Chicken in Chicago - Crisp (Boystown) and Honey Butter (Avondale)

I'd recommend several of the places on this list but the 2 I mentioned are my favorite.

I'm not much of a pancake guy - I don't care for flapjacks or the thick ones that get soggy and mushy with syrup - but the Cinnamon Apple pancakes aren't really what I would call a pancake. I'm not sure what to describe it as other than to say that if you like cinnamon - you will love it. Best cinnamon creation EVAH!

That is really cool! Athletes are different than actors. They come off as more down to earth.
