He doesn't lose many but wins few cleanly he tends to prevent the other centerman from winning them and this huge dude on Guelph named Ratcliffe is able to get in and win possession.

In the last 5 minutes Entwhistle was on the ice for over half of it and was dominant but Guelph couldn't tie it.

Boqvist wasn't on the ice in the last few minutes as London were protecting a one goal lead.

Ratcliffe is a Flyer prospect.

Stage parenting at its finest. Wonder what his family (his other three children) back in Buffalo think of all this.

Is what Campbell is doing with Boqvist common in the juniors? Meaning, do other teams send a mentor/coach to work with their top picks?
- pdx2ord

There are a few ex NHL players like Gary Roberts working with junior players. I have no idea if what Campbell is doing, working with a specific junior player, is common?

He is huge. Entwhistle isn't small but he has to look up to Ratcliff

Yes, but believe some of them were still in school when this all started. They’re all younger than Patrick.

It obviously works for their family.

If uncommon, pretty good of the London coaches to accommodate and let Campbell participate in on-ice practice, etc.

Yeah I saw that vid on the Hawks website I was surprised to see Campbell on the ice at practice.

Elbows could answer better than me if Rockford is better for Boqvist's development. I think the coaching in London is excellent, my concern is he is too good for most of his teammates and they can't handle passes Boqvist is able to get to them. I'd hate to see him reel back his creativness because of the low skill of most of his teammates. However even in the OHL he is only average defensively and I think that's where he can learn that side of his game.
- paulr

Sounds logical to me. Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this. Have similar thoughts in that Boqvist really doesn't have much to prove offensively in juniors but a lot to gain defensively.

Question is whether he can gain that defensive experience in the AHL against men or if he should gain the fundamentals first with younger players like him.

One thing on the plus side of having him play in Rockford would be he can be brought up to get a taste of the NHL during the season and sent back down which can't be done mid-season if he's playing in the OHL (other than at the beginning of the season and then he goes down to JRs and stays there the rest of the season). It might be something worthwhile if he's doing well and they want to see how he does against the NHL for a few games. Maybe do it a couple times during the season.

Good win for the hawks tonight nice to see no quit in the team. This just my gut feeling but this offseason I m thinking hawks will make a big move that no one saw coming. What that will be don't know d man center or winger all could be in play. Hugh offseason for bowman and company cannot miss on almost anything. I m thinking something bigger than maybe signing ferland or dzingel time will only tell.

Strongest rumor right now seems to be Kevin Hayes coming to Chicago.

Not that it should be the deciding factor, but I think his ELC can slide another year if he stays in London.

Bucci Mane
@Buccigross
Future @NHLBlackhawks center Kevin Hayes beats the @NHLBlackhawks Tonight

In addition to his media role, he’s supposedly someone who is close to the Hayes family?

It does. I don't think the decision on what to do with him will be made until after TC. My guess is they will want to see where he is at physically to determine if he can stand up to the rigors of the AHL.

Seems like he just misspoke to me. Meant to say former even though he never was technically a Blackhawk.

An entitled family, iirc. I thought he hated the Hawks because of their evil treatment of his lummox brother? That's rhetorical, pdx, not shooting you, the messenger.

You need a win tomorrow to have a shot at getting past round 1. Preds can't handle The Peg or Bluez.

I’d think that, too, if I hadn’t heard that others were talking about it on one of the recent NHL broadcasts and seeming to back up the rumor. Now, my brain refuses to remember who it was and exactly what they said.
