The only reason he wasn't claimed is because the Sabres allowed Florida to share the AHL team, and the Panthers thought it would be in bad taste to claim him

What a career for Pominville. What a good year for him too. This guy was not the problem. Very sad to see him go. Happy for him tonight, though

He was truly able to play up-and-down the lineup. When we started this year, Girgensons-Erod-Pominville was the 4th line, and they were good!

The problem was that the rest of the roster wasn't. Erod and Pommer were forced into positions they shouldn't occupy. That would have been a damn good 4th line, though
