I have. There are 2 or 3 players with elite players on a team of fringe 3rd liners and a defense made of college players. They won't make the playoffs until Benning is fired and this team is managed properly. - Marwood
Would you trade any of: hughes, bo, stecher, Gaudette, Demko, ep or boeser?
For me that’s looking like the beginning of a very solid group. All very young and showing serious promise at various NHL roles. It’s going to take a long time to be contenders, but the pacific is weak af. Were a bubble team next year. Bank it. |

i expect to draft anywhere between 9th and 12th, anything higher is gravy - Codes1087
9-10. I wish JB had the stones and skill to make a shrewd Brian Burke kind of deal at the draft. |

we (the haters) are just scared that he/they are going to go hard for the playoffs next year.

i have a feeling he will do something before the draft. If he can go to the media and say "im not trading away any draft picks this year when the draft is in our barn", it wouldn't surprise me if he trades up and tries to make a splash in front of the hometown crowd. |

wasn't/isn't he content running that football/soccer team?
interesting candidate. seems like the polar opposite of benning.
definitely a guy you'd want to interview to get his insights (!!!!) but i'm not sure he'd be the best candidate. him as the president after gillis would have been interesting. - RealityChecker
He’s the freaking chairman of a premiere league team, not going anywhere unless he’s fired. |

All true but we're talking about a team that needed to go through a very difficult rebuild and that's not the time to bring in a management group with very little experience in that department.
After you build a strong core sure, but not before. - bloatedmosquito
The names being thrown out are McCrimmon Krueger Holland Lombardi .
Two of them have no experience as a NHL GM just like Golden Boy Jim had none when he came here. The other two have driven solid franchises into the ground with bad contracts . They have won cups but so has Burke who you could get short term. Burke has had success with the Flames in the last five years the other two have not.
Edit Kings won the cup 5 years ago. In two more months they will be off that list. |

we've been conditioned to believe that just making the playoffs is success.

I'm terrified about what they are going to do to 'try' to be a playoff team next season. The other thing that scares the sh*t out of me is Benning looking for a defensemen in the 21-25 age brackett to grow with the team. That will cost. A lot. They can't help but rush the process. - Marwood

A splash would be nice though, I also have a feeling he'll do something, if not at the draft then during the summer. |

90-92 is what it took to make the playoffs in one of the worst seasons. Other teams will also improve. Canucks will need 95+ points to make the playoffs, that’s an unreasonable expectation for this group. |

Canucks will get the 3rd pick, select Byram, trade Tanev and/or Hutton, move on from some of the RFA's, promote Loui to Head Siberian scout at 6 million per year, fore Baumgartner and Brown.

Might have been good at the time but Dahlen is gone and Goldobin is going.
Benning should be terminated before he ruins this franchise. - Marwood
Weren’t you a benning fan only a year ago lol. It’s kind of funny that you turned quickly when this was probably his best year of work. I change my mind all the time I just find it amusing. His first couple of years were pretty bad looking back on them. Think he has been decent the last two years |

Sieder didnt make Bob’s top 15 (which is him just consolidatin 10 scouts lists). Soderstrom/broberg are roght where we are likely picking. Id like spderstrom due to the big shot/physical/defensive reports ive read. Wonder if Seider did anything to not make it or if it’s more just these giys all just did more. |

No.
I gave him the benefit of the doubt his first couple of seasons but the Eriksson contract was the final straw. |
