I gave him the benefit of the doubt his first couple of seasons but the Eriksson contract was the final straw. - Marwood

Weren’t you a benning fan only a year ago lol. It’s kind of funny that you turned quickly when this was probably his best year of work. I change my mind all the time I just find it amusing. His first couple of years were pretty bad looking back on them. Think he has been decent the last two years - CanuckDon
I am more scared about starting over again than I am of Benning doing something stupid. I agree this has been his two best years. I also don't mind someone with more experience coming in to work with this group.
Excellent GMs are not unemployed and would not probably want to walk into this group right now. Chances are you would be getting a refurbished exec.

90-92 is what it took to make the playoffs in one of the worst seasons. Other teams will also improve. Canucks will need 95+ points to make the playoffs, that’s an unreasonable expectation for this group. - 1970vintage
Why will the pacific be better? La and anahiem wont. Sj arguably wont, as it doesnt seem like they can realistically afford karlsson. Vegas will be good. Arizona maybe i guess?! Edmonton if they land some big deals and change the d over, but man they seem like a mess. All im really predicting is that we finish higher next year, were not that far off the bubble now. I didnt say playoffs, ive always said bubble team. |

It certainly screams Aquilini is being a cheap (frank). Benning needs support if he is going to stay. Why is their front office running so lean when benning clearly has some holes in his managerial skill set |

Canucks have two pretty young guys in the organization that seem like good candidates. |

I think he likes Johnson. He is well spoken but hard to tell what he has done good and bad |

I’d add Sven, rousell, burrows trade, Hansen trade, stetcher, and some of the stuff NOT done.
Didn’t give up on Marky (I was ready to toss his for Sure)
The EP draft was not a regular top 5 draft.
Is he the best? Nope. Is he doing a decent job and getting better? I think so. - canucksfan1944

I do like Johnson .
Not only because of how he looks or speaks but Comets have had success. This year was a setback but overall has done a good job.

Yes. Not a lot of teams that would just leave the president position vacant likd that, not to mention assistsnt GM as im pretty sure most have two. Needs to add to the group |

Agreed.
Plus some guys might just be good scouts but not good organizational leaders so it’s hard to tell with Brackett either since we’re not in the meetings and discussions. |

100%
But maybe FA is aiming for a big name and not settling for someone unknown. |

I’m just saying, we have no idea how forward thinking he is and what kind of leader he is as outsiders, he could be the next Yzerman or just a younger Benning.
It’s hard to be totally for/against any first time NHL GM until they start making moves in the organization.
Fenton was a guy a lot of fanbases wanted from Nashville, so far he’s had a rocky start in Minny. |

Sieder didnt make Bob’s top 15 (which is him just consolidatin 10 scouts lists). Soderstrom/broberg are roght where we are likely picking. Id like spderstrom due to the big shot/physical/defensive reports ive read. Wonder if Seider did anything to not make it or if it’s more just these giys all just did more. - neem55
Soderstrom has suddenly become overrated.
Not even sure where the recent Seider hype has come from... Thought I was his only fanboy |

I'd rather have Dragon.
Holland is going to Edmonton to finish off the job Chiarelli did. |
