I understand the ROW tiebreaker, but Isles have 47 total wins and Pens only have 44. TO me it's total bs that ROW comes into play in that scenario. Somehow overtime losses are just as important as more total wins...just don't understand the logic behind this.

I've never been a fan of the loser points, but that's been the rule since they came back from the 2004-05 lockout. It's those loser points that allow the Pens to beat out the Isles for 2nd place, even though they would have less wins..........assuming the Isles lose in regulation Saturday and the Pens win Saturday.

Its stupid because the shootout gets you a point in the standings but doesn't count towards a tiebreaker. If it's good enough to get you a point then the win should count too

Just have to get a point on Saturday and all is good. Very impressive season no matter what considering the expectations preseason. 101 points was far beyond anything I thought they would come near. With that said it’s in their control to get home ice which will be huge considering we’re more than likely playing the pens.

I’m amazed how much Pulock, pelech and mayfield have grown as players. Hickey is now our 7 dman. Kudos to trotz. While cizikas is my mvp of season, I have to say it’s nelson that really stepped up his game after Tavares left. Lehner deserves vezina consideration but they will snuff him Bc of number of starts vs the others.
Let’s get at least a point against caps and lock up home ice.

All it is is an admission by the league that the shoot out is a stupid way to determine the outcome of hockey games.

Frustrating as always! Makes a nice play on the goal and gets yet another point, but spends much of the rest of the game making bad turnovers in the offensive zone.

I say just get rid of overtime altogether. 2 points for a win and nothing for a tie. If 2 teams are tied with 4 minutes left, knowing they won't get a point without OT, don't you think they'd put a little more effort in to break the tie and run away with 2 points. Versus zero.
Not sure if OT is in the players' CBA.

He made a couple terrible turnovers right on our blue line that almost led to panthers goals. He is incredibly frustrating at times. Those consistent turnovers may really hurt when we’re in the playoffs and that one mistake can lose us a series.

NHL needs to get rid of this dopey 3 on 3 and the SO. No other sport settles games like this. Go back to the old rules.

Yeah, that was a very nice pass tape to tape for Nelson's one-timer.

I really like that line if Bailey can stop being Bailey with the turnovers and soft play.

Yes he is I like the way he’s developing. He was positionally sound and also pretty physical. Nice assist.

MDC looks like he can be a player and the offense should get better with more time. Hard to believe he is still only 22.

MDC has been around the block for sure...... From top 5 draft pick to bust to prospect to bust to decent middle 6 player.

Feels like he is 30 years old. I like MDC with Nelson. Would like to have a better RW than Bailey though.

With Bailey's salary, you have no choice but to play him somewhere. His best attribute is his passing, so I'm ok with putting him on Nelson's line to help set up Nelson's shot.........one of the best on the team.

I agree. I just meant going forward next year it would be nice to move Bailey and have a different RW.

3 on 3 is awesome. The SO they should get rid of and make 3 on 3 8 minutes instead of 5

Bailey is frustrating, because, as UIF, cpt and others have said/suggested, he can make a good play or plays during a game, and then give the puck away at a crucial time. I actually think he has improved somewhat in the sense that, while he's never going to be a physical player, his "battle level" seems higher under Barry than I've ever seen it before. It's as if he has to unlearn a lot of bad habits he developed under previous coaches. The process has begun, but it's far from completed.
